During the late 1970's and early 1980's, there was an absolute flood of "High Fantasy" Movies that wowed our imaginations with their fantastic worlds of wonderment and blew our young minds with engaging and thrilling stories! And one of the high points of this cinematic deluge, was "The Dark Crystal"!!

Envisioned, created and written by Jim Henson on a literal dark and stormy night in the late 1970's, "The Dark Crystal" was a hit fantasy film where 100% of the sets, effects, and "actors" were either puppets or practical effects! Telling the Story of the mythical world of Thra, where the creatures of this world are in a state of slowly dying as the power of The Dark Crystal slowly fades. The corrupt and evil Skeksis have corrupted and abused the crystal to the point where it can no longer sustain the planet. An ancient prophecy and an unlikely hero in the form of a nearly extinct race called the Gelfings are the inhabitants of Thra's only hope.

Please enjoy as catch up with one of the original founding members of DIM, the one and only Mike Golka, discuss this amazing film in the light of its upcoming prequel series "The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance" being released on Netflix, And we enjoy another round of DIM games!!
