Deadly Ever After

​Christe Chen, a 36-year-old pharmacist from Memphis, Tennessee, was tragically murdered by her husband, Bradley Robert Dawson, during their honeymoon at the luxury Turtle Island Resort in Fiji in July 2022. The couple had married just months earlier after a whirlwind romance. Two days into their stay, following an alcohol-fueled argument, Dawson fatally assaulted Chen, inflicting multiple blunt-force trauma injuries to her head. After the incident, Dawson fled the resort by kayak to a nearby island, where he was apprehended with his passport and personal belongings, indicating an attempt to flee the country. In December 2024, a Fijian court convicted Dawson of murder, and in February 2025, he was sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum of 18 years to be served before eligibility for parole. The case garnered international attention, highlighting issues of domestic violence and the tragic consequences that can ensue.
