Barry first found music when he borrowed his sister's record collection when he was about eight and was hooked. When Caroline started it was a new beginning, and he listened to all the stations, but Caroline was his favourite by far. Later he became a singer in a band, then started doing discos when he was 18. About Andre Barwell:
A longtime resident of Altadena, CA, and a business graduate of Howard University,
Andre’ has made his mark in the television world as a producer, director, and production
executive. Having spent 12 years at Black Entertainment Television where he held
several executive positions including Budget Director, VP of Network Operations West
Coast, VP of Development and VP of Comedy. In addition, Andre’ was executive
producer on several shows Comic View with DL Hughley & Cedric the Entertainer, BET
Live with John Salley, creator, executive producer, and director of his sketch comedy
show The Way We Do It before going independent. Andre’ landed at the WB as
supervising producer of Steve Harvey’s Big Time and then to a syndicated dance show
for Paramount called Dance 360 starring Kel Mitchell and Fredro Star.
Andre’s independent projects include writing and directing a sitcom pilot called Jocks 2
for former NFL player Nate Jones, executive producing reality show pilot for actress
Mischa Barton as well as directing the first episode of Stars on Stars with Stephon
Marbury and guest Kobe Bryant which aired on Fox Sports Net. Further, Andre’
continues doing freelance jobs like finance producing for Byron Allen’s HBCUGO
network showcasing Black College Football for their first season.
Andre’ has decided to pursue film as a writer/director solidifying two of his passions:
comedy and horror. He is working on bringing back his sketch comedy show current
episodes can be seen on his YouTube channel The Way We Do It and would love to
collaborate in some way with Pasadena’s iconic Ice House which has a long tradition of
supporting standup comedians. Andre’ is currently shopping for his original horror script
CRAWGAROU.
