On this episode of Discovering Multifamily, Corey Chonsky joins us & is originally from Minot, North Dakota. Corey enlisted in the Navy in 1998 and graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2007. He was commissioned as an Ensign in the US Navy and was stationed at Norfolk, VA in 2015.
While in the Navy, he started his real estate investing career by purchasing distressed single-family properties and managing their renovation processes. By leveraging this experience as part of a larger real estate team, Corey was able to double his portfolio every year while serving as a Naval Officer, leading a team of more than 140 officers and enlisted personnel through multiple deployments in 2016 and 2018.
Corey manages commercial real estate syndications across three coastal states. He is a general partner for seven apartment syndications in Virginia, Maryland, and Texas. Overall, Corey's portfolio consists of $83 million with over $10 million in renovations.
