Why do so many of us get nervous when public speaking? Communication expert Lawrence Bernstein says the key to dealing with the pressure is as simple as having a casual chat. He introduces the "coffee shop test" as a way to help you overcome nerves, connect with your audience and deliver a message that truly resonates. After the talk, Modupe explains a similar approach in academia called the "Grandma test," and how public speaking can be as simple as a conversation with grandma. Deryck viewed alcohol as just a thing he did as opposed to being addicted. In terms of transitioning out of drinking on a consistent basis, he found it was basically like turning off a switch for him. He had to find a different release and put all of his energy into that. Sum 41 is celebrating the 15 year anniversary of their album "Chuck". The band will be hitting the road this fall and playing all of the songs off of that album with some of their newer stuff off of "Order In Decline" mixed in.
