Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #624 is an hour of dynamic, wide-ranging visionary acoustic improvisational music played by the Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, Native flute, harmonica, 4- and 8-string ukuleles, Celtic harp and standard and Nashville-strung acoustic guitars, Bob Sherwood on piano and bass guitar and Craig Harris on congas and Native drum. Recorded live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts in early June of 2025, today’s how begins with the meditative, relaxed “Let’s Flow On”, a spacious song characterized by Mariam’s high-string acoustic guitar and flowing piano from Bob. “Celebrate Wonder” is a beautiful, reverent raga-like piece with soaring Native flute and beautiful vocals from Mariam and “Behold The Mystery” is a mysterious, mystical piece built around Mariam’s chiming Celtic harp and prayerful vocal and Native flute. “Oh The Flower Of Life” is a pretty, delicate, harmonically austere song featuring Mariam’s crystalline 8-string ukulele and a mesmerizing conga performance from Craig and “On A Mission Of Greatness Serving Unflinchingly” is a bluesy manifesto featuring rocking overdubs of bass guitar, Native drum, harmony vocals and rasping blues harmonica. “Flowers Of Delight” is a lush, unhurried re-imagining of Mariam’s beautiful, reverent track from her “Release” LP and we finish today’s hour with the hard-rocking, harmonically mysterious, shaded weather adventure story “Froggies On The Road”.
