In this homily, Fr. Michael reflects on Jesus’ words to the scribe, “You are not far from the Kingdom.” While love of God and neighbor is essential, it brings us only close to the Kingdom. Fr. Michael explains that true entry requires a leap of faith in God’s providence and mercy, made known through Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh. This homily challenges us to go beyond mere moral living and embrace the Savior God has given, recognizing that we all fall short of the law and need the gift of Christ to bridge the gap.
