Prior to his start at EPA, he was the executive director of Air Alliance Houston, a non-profit advocacy organization advancing EJ and reducing the public health impacts from air pollution. Matthew has a B.A. in English from the University of Texas at Austin. From Oxford, he has a Master of Philosophy in Russian and East European Studies and a Ph.D. in Modern History.
