69. +R Riding — Part 4: Answering Your Questions (Ft. Caine Meyer)
Manage episode 324990693 series 3231189
Hi All🌞🌎
In this episode, Caine Meyer from @MeyerHorsemanship goes top to bottom answering the questions you guys wanted to be answered regarding riding with +R! I hope ya learned something! Here are some examples of what was asked & answered!
- Which is harder: Teaching horses or riders to ride with +R?
- Is treating after a good round +R? (It depends)
- What if there are no +R riding instructors near me?
- Is competition, and those at high levels, possible?
- Do you believe it's possible to interact with horses using solely +R? Should you?
- How do I stop my horse from pulling on the reins?
- What should I do if my horse doesn't listen to my signals and fight me on everything?
- How can I use +R to help a former lesson horse that loves to balk on the ground AND undersaddle?
- How do you keep your horse from offering things all the time (i.e. cantering when unwanted?)
- I treat my boys on the ground but have been told not to treat them while I’m riding because that’ll make them misbehave. Thoughts?
- How often do you click a reward a horse during a ride? Every time they do the correct thing or after a sequence of correct things? Or does that come with the more training you do?
And that's only half! Many more answered to the best of our ability, all in this week's episode of EquiTheory! (:
