Isaiah 40:28-31 ESV
28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.
- If you haven’t known or heard let me tell you.
- He has no beginning and no end.
- He doesn’t pass out at your issues, He doesn’t get tired of hearing them, He is understanding beyond understanding.
29 He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.
- He is the God of power and strength.
30 Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted;
- Even the young implies the older as well.
31 but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
- It’s not the speed in which things are accomplished.
- It is the victory over said things comes from the Lord.
1 Peter 5:6-11 ESV
6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, 7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. 8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9 Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. 10 And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. 11 To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
- Humbling yourself is being obedient, recognizing His power over yours, it’s being silent when you want to take over, it’s being still when His plan collides with yours, allowing His plan to prevail.
- Casting your cares on Him doesn’t mean you don’t care, it means you care enough to trust Him with it.
- The very things you are struggling with, people everywhere are too.
- On the back side of these struggles there is restoration, confirmation, strength, affirmation… Why because He is God of all grace and power.
Romans 8:31-39 ESV
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be[i] against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33 Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.[j] 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written,
“For your sake we are being killed all the day long;
we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
