In 1981, six-year-old Adam Walsh was abducted from a Florida department store. Two weeks later, he was found murdered. His tragic story led to sweeping changes in child safety protocols across the country. In his memory, the program “Code Adam” was developed by Walmart and later adopted nationwide.
