Find the Funny with Lisa Alvarado

Lisa and her good friend and comedian Peter Berman sit down together and talk about life, death and stand up comedy. Peter has a Comedy Central special among other TV appearances and together.
They also discuss Lisa's documentary called "Don't Wait: The Michael Schmidt Story," (see link below for trailer) which revolves around helping a terminally ill man named Michael fulfill his dying wish of performing stand-up comedy.
Michael had a degenerative disease similar to ALS and chose death with dignity. Peter and a group of talented comedians come together to write jokes for Michael, creating a unique and uplifting experience. The documentary also explores the complex emotions and challenges of writing jokes for someone in such a situation. The comedians involved in the project felt a sense of responsibility and found the experience both moving and profound.
Through humor, they bring joy, laughter, and moments of levity to Michael's challenging journey, demonstrating the healing power of comedy. The project not only impacts Michael's life but also teaches everyone involved about empathy, the importance of laughter, and the power of human connection.
