Arcadia and Malcom have lost their Byrd for the week but she was actually supposed to be playing on recording day. They discuss Daggerheart and the splash it is making in the ttrpg world. Daggerheart is the new ttrpg brought to by Darrington Press (Critical Role) and many people have some very strong opinions on them. This was a marked step away from D&D but they are wildly successful in their own right, they are not beholden to WotC. They have been in position to launch their own game without having to lean on the D&D framework. Did we mention they landed Jeremy Crawford and Chris Perkins? This is the first of many conversations on this topic. Was this a gauntlet thrown or was this just a natural result of the success that Critical Role garnered? Is Darrington Press going to avoid the pitfalls of WotC and the OGL crisis? What are your thoughts on Daggerheart and how it will affect the ttrpg space in the days to come?
