44 How To Eat An Elephant: Initiative, Perseverance, and Surrender
Manage episode 481033337 series 3583812
Today Sharon digs deep into the lessons of overcoming life's big things--projects, obstacles, challenges, and, yes, even, or especially, trials. Sometimes these "things" look so big that we avoid taking them on. Then come the trials that don't give us a choice, we have to respond. Forget about taking a bite, we are just trying not to get trampled. I know you have been there too.
God is the answer. We cannot overcome all "things" on our own. Some things are just too hard and more than we can handle. The Bible is full of stories where things happened that were bigger and harder than the characters of the Bible could conquer on their own. God stepped in over and over--with David and Goliath, with the Children of Israel and the Red Sea standoff, the Jonah inside the belly of the big fish, just to name a few.
God is faithful and when we can't, He always can. Rely on Him. Lean into Him. God's grace can always be found in the wilderness when we search for it. How do you eat an elephant? With God's help ... one bite at a time.
