The Democratic Alliance is urging Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana to prioritize infrastructure investment in today's budget, while avoiding tax hikes, particularly Value-Added Tax (VAT). Last month, the Western Cape High Court suspended the half-a-percentage-point VAT increase in an application brought by the DA and EFF. The party says frontline services must be protected and calls for more efficient and smarter government spending.
