While squishy moderate Kevin McCarthy is not at all an ideal leader for the new House Republican majority, by denying him the Speaker’s gavel for 14 ballots, the conservatives extracted HUGE concessions that give them control of policy and investigations. The resulting deal is the best of all possible outcomes for the conservative cause, forcing leadership to work with the conservatives to fight out-of-control spending, rein-in the debt, end the politicization of federal law enforcement, stop social-media censorship, and more.

In addition, I take a close look at Biden’s calamitous withdrawal from Afghanistan, focusing on those we left behind. My conclusion: Biden should be impeached.
