Yes! You are in! Part 3 of Scooter, he keeps bringing the boldness and wisdom. Sharing more on what worked after about 50+ years of suicidal thoughts. Does this world need more hope or hopelessness? Some of you need to break some chains. Some of you know somebody that needs to break some chains. Here's some more Hope to share... If you dig that opening hook, that is Marcus Rogers, Best Life. Yes, you are in! Scooter is back for Part 2. If you haven't heard Scooter yet, back up one to Scooter, Part 1. On this one Scooter shares how a young son helps him see different. Here you go... Thank you Scooter! Bold and brave. 1 Peter 3:15. Could you share like that? Hit us up at FriDudes.com and let's get your testimony lined up to help others...just like Scooter. I've heard the stories how one can go to church for years and not believe. Going through the motions. Box checker. Once you get out of church, do you just do what you want to do? 8 times trying to commit suicide. Getting past molestation. What a bold confession. We always say here, mental illness is as real as cancer. Celebrate Recovery is for more than just addiction. We have another saying here, we have never met anyone better from drinking or using. I have met countless people that are stronger from Celebrate Recovery. Countless! Getting real. Pursuing Truth. Sharing what works. Never read the Bible. I've never met anyone stronger from not reading the Bible. I've met countless people stronger after reading the Bible. The Owner's Manual for Life. The importance of Serving. Serving overflows your heart. If you are down, go out and serve. 1 Peter 4:10 NIV Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of Godās grace in its various forms.ā¦
Yes you are in for another treat! Meet Scooter! We say here at FriDudes that we are in the Hope and encouragement business. For about 60 years, Scooter was suicidal and lost. He enjoyed the motorcycle and the party yet something was missing. What could that be? Well, here you go... Website references mentioned during the Scooter episodes... https://www.brokenchainsjc.com/ Scooter's Anti-Trafficking Mission, you can contact Scooter at... Scootei10beat@gmail.com https://thebridges2hope.com/ https://www.hopepd.org/ https://www.overflowshowers.org/ Thank you so much for listening. Extra thanks for sharing! Somebody else needs to hear Scooter's story. For we ALL need Hope and encouragement at times. As for now, I have 3 more parts/chapters from gracious Scooter that will be released in the near future. Stay tuned. Lastly, when I have my A game, I end each episode with Matt 22: 36-40.. 36āTeacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?ā 37Jesus replied: ā āLove the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.ā 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: āLove your neighbor as yourself.ā 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.ā https://www.bible.com/bible/111/MAT.22.NIV Love your neighbor includes people that look like Scooter. We'll get his picture up on the Fridudes.com blog. The average person will judge someone based on appearance. Just because they look tough on the outside does not mean they are not hurting on the inside. This sweet soul Scooter was hurting and suicidal until he found Hope. So please keep that in mind the next time God 'tees you' up with a person that doesn't look like you. Do not judge a book by its cover. Give them a smile, perhaps a kind gesture and boldly pray, God how can I encourage this person. If you want me to, what can I say or do to better love on this son or daughter of yours? Now go, Love, serve.ā¦
Yes! You are in! Bill Bohline is back! Some of you ask who is Bill Bohline? Well, one of my favorite teachers ever. And he has a mic drop for you and me. Check this out...here you go... Thank you Pastor Bill Bohline and Hosanna Church in Lakeville and several campuses around the south metro of the Twin Cities of Minnesota. That was my home church for about 20 years until God called me to the mission field of Crazy Cali. My family and community was blessed with that teacher for over 20 years. He is gifted and anointed. He's not perfect and what a leader to even mention that in that message, in fact, I encourage you to listen to that entire message, you can find it right here by clicking on the link below in the show description... https://www.youtube.com/live/-2fZ4O9fC74?si=_2xxpvmblWzTW5Gw Bonus listen, Bill actually has his own episode right here as he graciously allowed me to interview him, click on the link below in show description to listen to that one... https://www.fridudes.com/podcast/episode/801da61f/bill-bohline Ok listeners, odds are if you are listening to this that you are believers in Jesus Christ. Some of you are not sure and I sincerely thank you for even listening and being open to a better way. Some of you have been believers for a long time. So let's go back to Bill's point. If you have been married for a really long time and you never mention your wife...that's a problem. As you get to know me better and I never mention my wife of 30 years, Lori, that is a problem. Do you recall in my previous episode where I said we are ALL "Religious" in something(s). I also said if you give me about 10 minutes I can tell you where you are religious. If you ask me what I do for a living, that tells me you are religious with work and money. If you are wearing a Patriots hat, that tells me you are into football. If you are getting distracted and looking at beautiful women while we are talking or your phone, you are showing your cards. If you never mentioned Jesus Christ and what he has done in your life, that's a problem and flag. Matthew 10:32 (NLT) āEveryone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. Matthew 10:33 (NLT) But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven. Scary verses! They are in there. Those are two of them and they should be like smelling salts for some of you. How can we be followers of Christ, married to Christ? Without ever mentioning Him? Not reading his love letters? The Word? You get the point. Conviction is a blessing. We all need 'areas for improvement' to flash up on our dashboard. Pray on it. God will tee you up.ā¦
Yes! You are in! Are you a strong man? Are you a strong woman? What is a strong man? Whoa, lot's of questions. That's what we do here. Getting Real and Pursuing Truth, oh and if you dig that opening hook, that is Marcus Rogers, Best Life, please buy/subscribe his music, here you go... Thank you Robert D. Wooten, making his debut as the play of the day on FriDudes. NPHX not your debut yet major kudos for having that strong man speak. I strongly encourage you to listen to the rest of that message, which can be found at this link in the show description... https://youtu.be/5bneMdVZHxM?si=nhoBZHQ4eDIFhkHG Ways of the world will judge and say what is toxic. Toxic masculinity? You know what I call toxic? Saying that if you are a certain gender or race that you are automatically toxic. That is discrimination. The Dr. Reverend Martin Luther King Jr., a black life with whom we celebrate and even honor with a national holiday says, "Let us select by content of character...not by color of skin.". Gender can apply to that statement too. "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." Didn't we just have an episode on about not judging? Yes! And I so appreciate MLK Jr.'s words. If we are to be judged, let it not by something trivial like skin color or gender, etc. Character. I So let's get real and pursue some truth more. We know the danger verse of judging (if not, back up one episode). We know that verse that we are all flawed...Rom 3:23. So we know there is no perfect character. Yet we also know there are stronger characters than others. We know a stronger character will show fruits of the spirit... Galatians 5:22 NLT But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness NLT: New Living Translation https://www.bible.com/bible/116/gal.5.22 So a Strong Man = Strong Character. Same with a strong woman. Think about your favorite people. Do you love people that take advantage of you or treat you with respect, the fruits mentioned above with character? Yes, I love rhetorical questions. Confession, at times, I have not been a Strong Man. Avid listener, you know my dirt....if not back up, perhaps even to episode 1...if you dare. Yet a Strong Man will confess in order to be healed, James 5:16. A strong man will turn where needed and correct what can be corrected. In progress right now. Are you worthy to be served/submitted? Many religious like to point out wives submit to your husbands. Not many point how it opens in Ephesians 5. 21 And further, submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Eph 5:21 https://www.bible.com/bible/116/EPH.5.NLT Confession, it is much easier to serve one another when we have our A games. However, on the days we don't, what did/does your Jesus Christ do for you? Does he forgive you? If you believe and choose John 3:16 and Rom 8:1, then, yes, absolutely. That's a Strong and Amazing Grace Savior. Matt 22: 36-40ā¦
Yes! You are in! Have you been judged lately? This broken planet has gone bonkers on judging each other...super fueled by biased media and algorithims to feed you only one side of a story. Everyone is convinced they are correct. So how do you stand out? If you are so brave, here you go... Thank you Kenton Beshore, guest speaker at SW Church in Indian Wells, CA. Kenton is one of my favorite teachers. I so appreciate how God has wired him. He's edgy yet comes with the Word and Truth. Tough love. Makes his audience respond. Very interactive. You can hear more about that message at the YouTube link right here, in the show description... https://youtu.be/ZAiEf_uhMEg?si=3YbuSdQ1ReA7aR0N So how about you? I know you are being judged too much. How about in return? How's your judging ratio? Confession, I can improve. My two weak points seem to be politics and the road. Matt 7: 1-6 1 āDo not judge others, and you will not be judged. 2For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged. 3 āAnd why worry about a speck in your friendās eye when you have a log in your own? 4How can you think of saying to your friend, āLet me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,ā when you canāt see past the log in your own eye? 5Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friendās eye. 6 āDonāt waste what is holy on people who are unholy. Donāt throw your pearls to pigs! They will trample the pearls, then turn and attack you. Matt 7: 1-6, NLT https://www.bible.com/bible/116/MAT.7.NLT One of my favorite sayings, "We are all religious...in something(s)." That is a fact Jack and the truth Ruth. Some of you say religion is a crutch and I'll ask you back, what is your crutch? You don't get to say nothing...for it is something: love interest, money, sex, drugs, alcohol, politics, cars, boat, house, a movement, pick your topic du jour., free this or that change or no ______. We can see via your social media or just give me 10 minutes with you and I'll be able to tell real quick what is your religion. For with any hard core religious person comes...judgement! They will judge you...whether you be blue or red or purple. So when someone is coming down hard on you, simply say, ooooooh, religious. You are really religious with that. If you happen to call Christianity your religion, well are your Jesus' words in Matthew enough for you? They should be. Me too. I'm going to work on that...every day until the day I die. Matt 22: 36-40.ā¦
Yes! You are in! Just like Mother's Day, Father's Day can be a tough time for most. For many of you did not have the best parents. How do I know that? I ask...plus Rom 3:23. Yet there is a solution that some of you leverage that can guarantee you have the Ultimate Father. Here you go... If you dig that opening hook that is Marcus Rogers, best life. Ok, reflection time. Good dad or bad dad? Probably somewhere in the middle. Here's a good test. When you walk down the card aisle, can you pick any of those cards? The sappiest of the sappiest. Oh Dad, you are the greatest! #1 Dad! If you can't, you are not alone. In fact, I would say you are in the majority of this broken planet. Survey of FriDudes says that about 75% did not have the best dad. You see that's the key fact. We live on a broken planet. Even if your parents were good, they weren't perfect. How do I know that? Rom 3:23. So when my kids take something to me (I have 3 kids with my wife Lori of 30+ years), if I have my A game, I'll ask them, did you take this to your Ultimate Father first? As for me, I'm far from perfect. I've dug many holes. Granted, I can also teach them what not to do (avoid my mistakes). On top of that, my mood can vary. That can swing advice. No matter what your earthly Dad was/is, you do have a perfect Heavenly Father. The Ultimate Power Source. The Creator of Heavens and Earth. You don't think He knows best? My best decisions came when I put Him first. My worst decisions came when I put myself first. It is that simple of an equation. Your choice and freedom to who you put First. My earthly Dad got that. He didn't have the best earthly dad. In fact, he had a violent alcoholic dad. How did my dad change course? You can actually hear his story. Click here in the show description for that link... https://www.fridudes.com/podcast/episode/4a190612/fathers-flaws-jon-denzel-maya-and-the-way-what-works-and-doesnt-in-life Now go love, your Ultimate Heavenly Father and Guide. Next, love others, such as your flawed parents. So if they need mercy and grace, surely I say, you will need grace and mercy too.ā¦
Yes, you are in. People do peoplish things. Got the pull to share more. BTW, if you dig that opening hook that is Marcus Rogers, Best Life, please buy, support his music, here you go... Thanks for listening. If worthy, thank you so much for sharing. FriDudes are in the Hope and Encouragement business. Last time, I checked, yes, this broken, frustrating planet needs some more Hope. So people do peoplish things, Rom 3:23. Where I got the pull was 'Practicing the Way'. Great book and teaching series by John Mark Comer. If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, this one's for you. If not, you are off the hook. People may do peoplish things, including you, yet that doesn't give us an unlimited card to do whatever you want...well at least if you call yourself a Christian. One, you are not allowed to hate anybody. Matt 22: 36-40 You are to forgive everybody. Matthew 6:14-15 New Living Translation (NLT) āIf you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins. You are to do kind things for your enemies. Matthew 5:44 (NLT) But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! Odds are you have some work to do if you want to call yourself a Follower of Christ. Me too. Truth, we will until the day we die. As we approach each day closer to death, for it is certain, Rom 6:23. We will no longer strive to please this broken planet. We best be pleasing our Creator before we meet. Rom 14:12 I am not perfect. So don't expect perfection from me. Yet, you should expect that I'm striving to be more Christ like each day. If you were to ask my wife, kids, loved ones, neighbors, co-workers, etc., they should tell you that I was loving and caring. Honoring Matt 22: 36-40. They should also tell you that I loved God and Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. They best know the reason why I love them through their flaws too. So how about you? You are not alone. I'm not picking on you. I'm trying to encourage you to step your game up. For if you do, your heart will overflow. Not my design. Your creator's. If you haven't yet, check out John Mark Comer's book, Practicing the Way. If you are in a small group, excellent, hold each other lovingly accountable. Oh bonus, you can find our Small Group Best Practice Guide on our latest post at FriDudes.com, here's the link... https://www.fridudes.com/post/dudes-guide-for-small-group-engagement-and-growth Now go, love God, love others, take at least one step forward each day on being more Christ-like.ā¦
Yes! You are in! Does this world need more Hope or Hopelessness? Yes, I do love that rhetorical question. As for the FriDudes and others that meet everyday of the week, we are in the Hope and Encouragement business. Part of Hope is getting the wisdom to draw from the ultimate source. For you have all been betrayed by someone. For People do Peopleish things...here you go... If you dig that opening hook, that is Marcus Rogers, Best Life, please buy/subscribe to his music... Thank you Pastor Ricky Jenkins for that play of the day. For there is a church (Southwest Church) out in the oasis of the desert, the valley of Coachella, Indian Wells, California, where you can find more of his brilliant teaching. For those interested, here is the YouTube link to hear more... https://youtu.be/Qnl4LHMFy8A?si=UV9F0tPoYElTHl70 Avid listener, you know I love to share Rom 3:23. For many, such an odd verse for you. I've had some flat out ask me, why, why do you keep saying Rom 3:23. For it is Truth and it explains a lot. It absolutely explains the play of the day you just heard. It explains why someone cheated, betrayed, hurt, ________ you. We are all flawed. It doesn't excuse those hurts. It simply explains why People do Peopleish things. So if you put all your Hope in people (that even includes your pastor, parents, spouse, boyfriend, girlfriend, politician, etc.). You will get stung. Not a matter of IF, it is a matter of When. Give me enough time and I'll tick you off. I may have already. For I am flawed. I've dug major holes with my ego, my pride. Yet, I strive to shine a little beacon on my flaws and say my Hope goes beyond the flawed people on this earth (including myself). My greatest moments have come when I love my Abba, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit guide first. You may not be there yet. Or you may believe yet how much do you really trust? Are you a follower too? If you are, you will learn to be content in all circumstances. Not happy, content. Big difference. Phil 4: 11-13. Black belt vs. yellow belt Christianity. We have believers. Not enough disciples. Definitely not enough Disciple Makers. Check Mat 28: 19-20. You love Jesus? He tells you exactly what your mission should be while on this broken planet. Are you doing that? Quit expecting perfection for people. For Expectations - Reality = Disillusionment. That's why many of you are depressed and/or anxious. You want Hope? Invest in the Ultimate Power Source. More Hope, more Love. Matt 22: 36-40ā¦

Yes! You are in! I got a funny for you. I went legit LOL on this one. Yes, Mother's Day is done, yet for some of you, you shouldn't be done...loving, here you go... Once again a secular source to help me point to Biblical Truth. The Half-Assed Morning Show making their debut. What a life long accomplishment for them. Yes, that is tongue in cheek. And you can find more on that on at the show link in the description. That episode is called 'Thunder Nugget' published on May 9th, 2025 Comedy aside, several angles on that one. https://www.93x.com/shows/half-assed-morning-show/hams-podcast/ One, some of you do not have the best mom's. I've learned that first hand dealing with all the dudes. So for many of you, it is truly a challenge to love someone that wasn't/isn't so loving. Picking out a card can be next to impossible for some of you. Deeper take, if you call yourself a Christian, here's a verse for you, washing other's feet. John 13:14 NIV Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one anotherās feet. And that means the not so lovable. Easy to serve someone you love. Jesus is crystal clear on loving the ones that need a doctor (mentally, spirtitually or physically). Forgiveness? You know I have to go there...for some of you are holding on to grudges for far too long, in particular what your parents did or didn't do... Matthew 6:14 NLT āIf you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. Ephesians 6:3 (NLT) If you honor your father and mother, āthings will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth.ā Matthew 15:6 (NLT) In this way, you say they donāt need to honor their parents. And so you cancel the word of God for the sake of your own tradition. Ten Commandments Simply shows you how important the family structure is for our Heavenly Father Bigger picture, if you are married, you should love your wife everyday, not just on anniversary or Valentine's Day. C'mon player, you can do better. Have kids? Go beyond the birthday. Father's you go it. Most important, good or bad parent, you have the ultimate parent. Don't forget that. Give you Abba praise first, every day, throughout the day. Ask the ultimate for guidance first before any other. Matt 22: 36-40ā¦
Thank you Dr. Bryan Loritts, another play of the day. Thank you Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, TX, for hosting and sharing. We both agree. Bryan is an annointed speaker for a season such as this. I strongly encourage you to listen to the rest of that message. Simply click the YouTube link in the show description or search "Your God is Too Small" and Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship. https://www.youtube.com/live/qg02n4VfoSM?si=Z7KAiIg7iMKBwyQK That is such a mic drop that I'm a bit speechless. Do you know a story like that? If so, please let us know at FriDudes.com. On the flip side, I know people that filed for divorce for a lot, lot, less. Heck, I've been upset with my wife of 30+ years for a lot, lot less. As I've said countless times on this podcast, any relationship you care about, you don't have to be married to get this, any relationship you care about...will not last without grace. Choosing to give grace, forgiveness. Choosing to love. For those 'IN LOVE', falling in and out of love is for rookies. Sooner or later, you are going to have to choose to love on certain days. Most certainly, you are going to need to choose forgiveness and grace to keep going. Back to you, that is your relationship with God. You've cheated on God somewhere. How do I know that? Rom 3:23. Yet we have this amazing gift in Rom 8:1. Wouldn't we be the ultimate hypocrites is we didn't extend the same. As stated before, doesn't mean you need to hug it out with that person that hurt you. It does mean you hand over that hurt to God. Quit carrying that hurt around like a tattoo on your face. As for that unbelievable dude in that Play of the Day. Think about it. His selflessness kept a family together. It kept a marriage together. Most important, it added a new member to the forever kingdom. A truly amazing story that I am already relaying. Maybe you too. Spread what works. Matt 22: 36-40ā¦
Yes! You are in. A lot of hate out there. How about you? Do you love or hate more? Christians, this play of the day will be a big challenge for some of you? Here you go... Thank you Marcus Rogers for that opening hook, Best Life. Please support, buy, subscribe his music. I do via Apple. Thank you Pastor Rick Warren for another/countless play of the day. You can hear more of that listen at Daily Hope, pastorrick.com. That one was published on the 1st of May 2025, entitled. "You've Got to get Connected, Part 2" Alright you. Are you a lover or a hater? If you are not a Christian, you are off the hook. If you claim Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are obligated to love. In fact, I loved the simplicity of that Play of the Day. We are not allowed to hate people. We may hate their actions/flaws. Does everyone approve of everything you do or say? Are you married? You don't even need to be married to answer that question. Of course not, you are flawed, Rom 3:23. So are your most annoying people. So do you pray for or curse them? You don't have to take my words for it. Nor even Pastor Rick's. What about your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ's? āLove your enemies and pray for those who persecute youā (Matt. 5:44) Your heavenly Father will forgive you if you forgive those who sin against you; but if you refuse to forgive them, he will not forgive you. Matt 6:14 Doesn't mean you need to be besties with those that hurt you. Not at all. Trust must be earned...and some never will. It does mean you let God do what he does best, justice. On this broken planet or after. You give that hurt to your Heavenly Father. Say Abba, this is between you and that person that hurt me now. I'm tired of carrying that hurt around like a ball and chain. My brother-in-law Chad, whom I love very much, is an atheist. He gets quite wrapped up in politics and likes to point out hypocrisy on just one side. He does have valid points at times. He shares something about how a book hasn't killed anybody but we will ban books and not guns. After thought and prayer, I replied, if we all followed Jesus Christ's words in a book called the Bible, there would be no wars, no racism, no hate and no definitely no mass shootings. Yet there are many that want to ban that very book (far left and far right depending on what sect). So what does Love got to do with it? EVERYTHING Matthew 22:36-40 New International Version 36 āTeacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?ā 37 Jesus replied: āāLove the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.ā[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: āLove your neighbor as yourself.ā[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.āā¦

They don't teach that enough in Sunday School or any day for that matter for kids or adults. Sometimes life is simply really, really hard...and it doesn't get better fast. Yet what I respect about the Word is it doesn't sugar coat. We humans can sugar coat it. That is a mistake. God doesn't sugar coat. Jesus Christ does not sugar coat it. We are told there will be times to mourn Ecc 3:4. We are told we will be mocked and hated, Matt 5:11. That we will ALL get sick and die, Rom 6:23. So why are we suprised? I'm not saying you should like it. Versed ones, why are we suprised? Why are you expecting perfection? Here is where you can expect perfection, Rev 21:4. When we get away from this broken, brutal planet, for those that 'choose' John 3:16 and Rom 8:1 and Rom 10: 9-10, we get... Revelation 21:4 NLT, Bible.com He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.āā¦
If you dig that opening hook, that is Marcus Rogers, 'Best Life'. Support and buy his music. Non-Profits featured in this episode that help the homeless... https://ochn.org/ https://www.overflowshowers.org/ When you live on this broken planet long enough, you will get teed up to help/serve and share with someone. In other words, somebody is going to ask you for something. It could be someone you know or a stranger. I'm flashing back to the guy with a young Indian family (to be clear, immigrants from India) in the middle of Nebraska. You can hear that episode here . He drove up to me with two young kids in the back and a wife that was on the verge of tears. He claimed that he lost his wallet. Old me would have probably ignored him. He doesn't have back up cards? No digital cards on his phone? Perfectly understandable human questions and doubts...ā¦
Yes! You are in. Confession, procrastination is an area of struggle for me. It is. My biggest holes dug have been via procrastination and pride. Here you go... If you dig that opening hook that is Marcus Rogers, Best Life. Please buy his music. Word! Pastor Ricky Jenkins is that Play of the Day. Southwest Church, Indian Wells, Ca. That came from YouTube and you can find it at the link below (in the episode description) or simply search "What Would Jesus Say to the Procrastinator", March 24, 2025. https://youtu.be/MI2gNwBp_qk?si=ojDCx6ZvSyhq51x8 If that resonates, I highly recommend you listen to the rest of it. Well, one thing I learned is that I'm not alone. You all procrastinate somewhere. Yes, some do better than others. Yet take a look in the mirror (health, marriage, a strained family relationship, Faith, obeying God?). Think about it. You have a weak spot somewhere. Otherwise, you would be perfect and don't need Jesus Christ. Yet, I know you do via Rom 3:23 and your flawed nature. Now, I bet you are really good and proactive at some things. For example, health comes super easy to me. I exercise just about every day. I eat healthy almost every day. I fast often. I can control my food and liquid intake. How about you? So you are procrastinating somewhere. Where do I stumble? Finances. I've been clear on that over this podcact. Accounting for me is like eating spinach for some of you. So I'm taking Pastor Ricky's advice. I'm starting with a little bit or step each day. So far, this week, I've done it. I've already done more about my procrastination then I have in a long time. By taking little, baby steps. Where do you need to improve? What have you been delaying? Who do you need to talk to? Write it down. Challenge yourself a little bit 6 out of 7 days per week. James 4:17 - Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it. New Living Translation Man that verse cuts. I don't share it as a guilt check as much as a reality check. We all have room for improvement. Also, be free in knowing we all have room for improvement. And then honor your Abba and say ok, here is where I'm going to start at better. Please God, here is my area, guide me. Lastly, whatever you are trying to do, do it with love. Love God, Love Others. Matt 22: 36-40. Everything else you are trying to do...even overcoming procrastination hangs on doing those two commandments first, loving God. Loving Others. Doing what you know you should be doing is loving God.ā¦
If you dig that opening hook, that is Marcus Rogers, "Best Life", please buy his music. Yes! You are in! We are getting Real and Pursuing Truth. Going through some tough times? Welcome to the club. An agnostic makes the play of the day, yeah you heard that right, atheists and agnostics have made the plays of the days. Personally, I love it when secular points to Truth and the bigger picture. Here you go... Right on! As much as we may not like resistance, it can serve a purpose. That Play of the Day came from the Adam Carolla podcast. Not his first play on this platform. Like I said, I have no problem using secular when it points to Truth and the bigger picture. The guest is Joel Lambert, former Navy Seal. Oh side note, this an independent podcast. When it comes to politics and the bigger picture, one of the best pieces of advice came from one pastor Named Kenton Beshore of Mariners Church in Orange County, CA. He said if a church chooses a side (in this case Democrats and Republicans) you put a wall to the other side. John 16:33 New International Version 33 āI have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.ā Avid listener, you know I've brought this up many times. The Greatest in the Bible went through the hardest times. Do you want to be the greatest? Maybe not. If you want to be part of the greatest, you are going to understand this. Let's go to science for a bit. How do you get stronger? Physically? Mentally? How do you run a marathon or get a PHD? A lot of resistance. I am convinced the anxiety and depression that plagues this nation has a lot to do with avoiding resistance. Wanting or getting things handed to us. Ferverent prayers, you know that you don't get everything you pray/ask. Well, you do, just not the way you expect. Yes, I know the verse of what you ask you get. I believe God is much more concerned about your and my character than comfort. Side note, I'm still being refined, especially economically. Hasn't come easy. I'm not a super wealthy man, monetarily. Maybe that's to keep me humble. So I owe and off to work I go. How about you? Are you striving for more comfort or strength? Hey, I don't blame you for going for comfort. I've done the same. Yet the wise want stronger. Stronger in the Word. Stronger in the Lord. Stronger in the mind and heart. So be reaffirmed your suffering/resistance has purpose. Jesus was whipped, tortured and nailed to a cross...and it wasn't for nothing...and you benefit from it...if you choose. Romans 8:28 New International Version 28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose. John 3:16 NIV: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Side note, some of you are enduring or have endured some really hard things. To be clear, I'm not trying to minimize them. I'm not excusing that person or people that hurt you. I am going to encourage you to handle it like Jesus Christ. Hint: what did he say to those people in the peak of his pain on the cross? Victim or Victor. Your choice. Lastly, put your hurts to use and help others. Who better to help someone with cancer than one that knows that battle? Where have you suffered the most? There you go. That is the key to have your heart overflow. Now, go Loveā¦
Yes you are in! Did you get attacked this week? Welcome to the club. For we are guilty of both. Why? You know we are in the Hope and Encouragement business. Part of Hope is learning and understanding flaws yours and mine. Here is your Play of the Day... Thank you Pastor Rick Warren for another mic drop. We don't have an official count yet I believe you are our mic drop leader. Lots of wisdom in Daily Hope. What a teacher. God has blessed you for an extended season of wisdom. Opening hook, Best Life by Marcus Rogers. Okay, how about you? Does that make sense? Avid listener you know I play the Rom 3:23 card pretty much every week. Why? Because we are ALL flawed. Ok, some more than others yet that verse explains a LOT! Most of us attract people with our best behavior. Then, over time, our flaws get exposed. Flaws = friction. The best relationships you know don't avoid friction. They just navigate friction very well. Whether you believe in Jesus Christ or not, your relationships will not last without implementing his teachings. Matt 7: 24-27 is one of my favorites. Jesus' words... What are Jesus' teachings, fruits of the Spirit: Grace, Forgiveness, Serving one another, Love, Choosing to Love. Blessed are the peacemakers. Doesn't mean you are supposed to be besties with everyone. Some people you are best to keep your distance. As for those that you took an oath in marriage in front of God or your children or best friends, you will navigate friction well by following Jesus' teachings. Lori and I have been married for 30+ years now. Jesus is the reason and why we have navigated some very hard times/storms. Share what works. Confession, My worst holes dug and I have dug some biggies have come when leaning on my own understanding and pride. Tough Love is part of love. Jesus gave tough love. If you listen to the rest of that Daily Hope, "What Destroys Relationships and What Builds Them Up, Part 3", published on 7 March 2025, Pastor Rick gets into it. As the saying goes, friends tell you what you want to hear. True friends will lovingly tell you what you need to hear. Confession, I have lost friends over this. Not everyone wants to hear what they should hear. For the record, I will welcome them back with open arms. I will also keep telling them what they need to hear. Their choice to stick around. How do you know if you are sharing great advice? Crucial question. Let the Owner's Manual for Life be your guide. Then let those that know the Owner's Manual for Life best also be your quality control. James 5:19-20 says, "My brothers and sisters, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone should bring that person back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins Proverbs 12:1 New International Version 12 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid. Matthew 18:15-17 New International Version Dealing With Sin in the Church 15 āIf your brother or sister[a] sins,[b] go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. 16 But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that āevery matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.ā[c] 17 If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector. When in doubt, Matt 22: 36-40ā¦
Yes, more wisdom coming your way. James from Compton is back! 3rd episode. I love this brother from another mother. His voice has power. He is tuned into the Ultimate Power Source. Yes! You are in! I'd say you are in for a treat. This is way bigger than a snack treat. This is some serious wisdom. Meet Gary Paxton. Former CEO of Dollar Rent A Car. Made a ton of money yet something was missing. He chooses to address the TuesDudesPM, a bunch of 25 year old men seeking wisdom with this them, "What Advice Would Gary Give His 25 Year Old Self?" Confession, Gary gets real and raw. The recording is a little choppy too as we deal with bandwidth issues. Yet, you'll get the overall message. Thank you Gary! Thank you Young Bucks for choosing to tune in. Oh, if you dig that opening hook, that is Marcus Rogers, Best Life, give him some love. Buy/subscribe his music, here you go...ā¦
There are times in life where you will get Whoa moments. So stunning and amazing that you are gifted to witness and share it. I had one of those this week. Stunning! Since this is a podcast, I'm going to ask you to go to FriDudes.com and check out the video on the blog. Or if you trust me, let me describe it for you. I'm driving my way to MonDudesPM in La Quinta, CA and I see a luminescent cloud stream in the air about the mountain. Kind of like Northern Lights yet very distinct. So compelling, I had to pull over and get out of my car to get a closer look. As I veer to my left, I see what looks like a spaceship flying through the sky. Okay, before some of you get too excited, it wasn't an alien. It was SpaceX and their Falcon 9 over the SoCal sky. So cool! The video doesn't do it justice yet at least will give you an idea. So how do I steer this to Deeper? Oh yeah, you know I'm going to go there and encourage you. Just like those brilliant engineers behind that rocket, you are gifted and called for an even greater mission. Greater than that?! Greater than that. Think of those engineers behind the rocket. Literal rocket scientists. They are gifted. Gifted with big brains for science and math. What about you? You may not be a rocket scientist yet I guarantee you are gifted...in something. How do I know that? Psalm 139:13-14 New International Version 13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my motherās womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. You are not here by accident. You are here for a reason. It is your job to tune in and know why. Perhaps why you are listening to this right now. By the plans to do good and to love, if you are not doing that well, then you know you are on the wrong path or not. As for good and plans to prosper you, check this out... Bonus, if you dig that opening hook, check out Marcus Rogers! Subscribe by his music. That song is called 'Best Life'!ā¦
Yes, you are in! If you dig that opening hook, that is Marcus Rogers, Best Life. Please subscribe/stream$ that music. I bought his albums and love them. Very strong! Especially if you like high energy/pump up music. How often do you write things down? How about your goals? New Year's Resolutions dead? What actually works? Here you go... This is a lot of work. You are right. Do or drift. 95% of all American do not have any written goals. Only 5% and they also happen to be the highest earners. Is the next 10 years of your life worth a few hours of reflecting, planning and reviewing? Thank you Pastor Rick. You can learn more from that Play of they Day at Daily Hope, that episode is entitled, "Your Choice - Blessed or Stressed - Part 2", published on the 21st. of January 2025. If you were motivated by that, will you let us know. Simply hit us up at the Contact Us page at FriDudes.com. We have a program called GCrossSurf and we would love to tell you more about it. Living your Best Life starts by writing it down. As for money, versed ones, you know that money isn't everything. This goes way beyond money. This goes to did you live your Best Life while on this broken planet. Some of you are already getting played by the enemy and thinking you made too many mistakes. Are you still breathing? Then you can start rallying. It's not about how you start. It is about how you finish. Finish strong. 2 Tim 4 Verses 6-8 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that dayāand not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken (Matthew 12:36). So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God. Therefore, let us stop passing judgment on one another (Romans 14:12) Are you in the 5%? Start praying and writing it down. Ask God boldly, why am I here? What do you want me to do today? In the next 10 years? If looking for more inspiration, check out Pastor Rick's book 'Purpose Driven Life'. Normally I say Yes, you are in. Definitely thanks for choosing to listen in. Extra thanks when you give us input at FriDudes.com. We hear you. More group and interviews on the way. As for today and the subject of fires, I call Southern California home. Yet even if you live in Alaska this will apply to you. A reflection on fires, you all have them in life either figuratively or literally. Here you go... Shout out to Marcus Rogers on that opener. I bought and listening to his albums. Some of my fave new music. Please do the same if you dig that opening hook. Give thanks for what is worthy. Phil 4: 6-8, good segue as we talk fires. What fires do you have in your life? Relationships stressed? Finances? Addiction? You do have fires. How do I know this? Rom 3:23. Granted some worse than others. On January 7, 2025, the LA fires have been a huge wake up call and some serious humble pie for some of the most proud and rich. Instantly makes me think of an Insta post by my wife of a LA celebrity. This celeb is known for her brashness. I'm not going to name her. For she has been humbled. She asked that others avoid shallow posts based on beauty, etc. Ironic part, didn't ask to pause those during the hurricanes in FL or pick your disaster of the day on this broken planet. Truth, there are disasters and tragedy everyday for somebody on this broken planet. For most, you only get proper perspective when it happens to you. Think Job or any other MVP in the Bible. That book is a tough read. Whatever gets your mind gets you. Rick Warren So many verses and so many directions we could go with this. What gets your mind? Which fire, good or bad? Your wealth or desired wealth? Your health? Your home? A relationship? A drug? Phil 4: 6-8 Lastly, back to the MVP's, bad things do happen to good/great people. A news bite I recently watched was of a man who lost his home in the Eaton Fire (Atladena), next to him was his neighbors house that looked untouched and now called 'Touched by God". The reporter asked him why God didn't save his house. His reply, "I guess God doesn't care about me.". I do get that initial reaction. I'm sure some of you do too. Yet, it is a lie he is believing. Versed ones. You know what Jer 29:11 says. You know what happened to Job and Moses and Elijah and Jacob and David and Daniel, jump ahead the disciples and Paul and most important God's own son. Did God not care about seeing his son who was tortured and nailed to a cross? Terrible things happen to the best. Yet versed ones, you know Rom 8:28. This podcast alone is full of stories of Hope and redemption out of awful. Back to the LA fires, if you want to help. Lots of options. We have chosen to support Convoy of Hope . As for further ideas hit us up and/or stay tuned. Learn from these fires. Palisades started with a spark. And apparently a lack of preparation (water!) and resources. Ironically, I can relate to that when my finances caught on fire. I'm still working on that fire. That's how big it was. It's another reason I'm so passionate about Greg's GCrossSurf ministry, life planning with the Lord and infusing accountabilty in our lives. Something I see sorely lacking in most small groups.ā¦
Yes! You are in! How are you doing with your New Year's resolutions? 1&Done? More likel NoneDone Per Greg, most people fail their resolutions by January 14th! So you are not alone. What works? Lasting change? Here you go... Yes, thank you again Marcus and the ThursDudes for that priceless nugget. Listener, you are trying to do all these things yet do you have the Ultimate Power Source involved? Do you know the verse Pro 19:21? Proverbs 19:21 says, "Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails". Pro 16:9 says, We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps. Pro 16:3 says, Commit your actions to the LORD, and your plans will succeed. Doesn't mean you don't plan and go for it. It does mean you best check your goals with God. And also don't be surprised when your plans change. Can you imagine how much better our anxiety levels would be if we could make peace with that. Confession, I'm still working on this. Versed listeners, your goal for life is clear, to become more Christ like each day. Can you imagine this world if we all did that? No more wars, no more killing, no more terrorist strikes, no more mass shootings, etc. Ok, odds are that you don't commit horrific acts. Yet being more Christ like is loving God with all your heart, soul and mind. This includes daily in the Word, praying, fasting and of course loving others. Check Matt 22: 36-40. Confession, I have room for improvement. So do you. How do I know that? Check Rom 3:23. If you think your poop doesn't stink, that is a serious problem right there. For those inspired, I am reading Practicing the Way by John Mark Comer right now. Next you need a small/accountability group. Yes! You are in! Merry Christmas! For many this can be a season of indulgence. Confession, I will be eating some fun food. Confession, I also love eggnog. Shhhhh. And today we are going to talk... health and fasting. Haha! Leave it to a calling by Greg and answer by the Jogging Jesus, oh and if you dig that intro check out Marcus Rogers and his song Best Life. Give him some love. Here you go... Bonus points for you to listen about fasting and health (spiritually and physically). Even if by chance you are listening to this in July, this will apply. For those that loved the Lord and wanted to get closer to God, that wanted to hear God better...fasted. How about you? Hey, you heard my confession. I got this much later in life. So if this is a new challenge for you, go for it. Test it for yourself. If you really love Jesus then follow His lead. If you by chance are a pastor, that listen is a gut check. Casey is right. Many pastors don't talk about fasting enough. Case in point, I grew up in church. I can't recall a fast growing up. I don't recall any pastor talking about it. I can think of giving something up for lent. If you have preached on fasting and challenged your church, well done. Keep going. On the spiritual or physical health front, odds are there is or will be room for improvement for you. Me? Heck yeah. For we are all Rom 3:23. There is always room for improvement. So as you think about your goals for 2025 and beyond, if you would like to learn more, have questions for Casey or Greg on fasting or GCrossSurf and life planning, hit us up at FriDudes.com. So now go, love God, with all your heart, soul and mind. That includes fasting. Fasting is absolutely a way to show God how much you love. Next, love others. Encourage some loved ones to do this with you. For you all will be stronger for it. Matt 22:36-40. Merry Christmasā¦

Yes! You are in! Meet Daniel the Faithful. Why Faithful? Let me tease this, you listen to what happened to Daniel and then I'll ask you. Would you still go to church after this happened to you? Would you stop believing in God? Daniel didn't. He kept going and now he's realizing Rom 8:28. It is quite and amazing testimony. It stopped me in my tracks. Daniel the Faithful, here you go... Thank you Daniel! Super bold. Super brave. I know people who left church after a lot less. I know people who became atheists for a lot less. That is an amazing testimony of Faith, perseverance and Rom 8:28. Avid listener, versed ones, you know that Rom 8:28 is one of the best promises in the Bible. For Good and better yet Amazing will come out of brutal. So for you that are done and out. Heart broken. This is for you. Your Best Life is coming if you so choose to embrace and believe in God's promise in Rom 8:28. Don't give up. Keep going. Love God with all your heart, soul and mind. Next, love others. Matt 22: 36-40. Side note, show me someone doing that despite brutal, that is Faith. That is a powerful testimony. Think Daniel the Faithful. Now go live your Best Life. If you dig that opener, check out Best Life by Marcus Rogers, give him some love, buy his music and support him. I love you. Thanks for listening. Now go love...ā¦
