More than two thousand years ago, a Man was born in poverty, reared in obscurity, and lived contrary to the laws of life. Without formal education, wealth, or widespread influence, He changed the course of history. In infancy, He startled a king; in childhood, He puzzled doctors; in manhood, He ruled the course of nature, walked on water, hushed the sea to sleep, and healed multitudes without medicine or charge. He never wrote a book but inspired more than any other. He never composed a song but remains the theme of countless songs. He never founded a college, yet all schools combined have fewer students than His following. Without an army, He won the surrender of numerous rebels; without psychiatry, He healed countless broken hearts. Though two thousand years separate His birth from today, His birth still matters.
