This is part one of our interview with Head Men's Soccer Coach Mauricio Ruiz and by Joby Slay, author of Get More for Coaches. Jacksonville University Men's Soccer is a NCAA Division 1 program. Coach Mauricio describes the character, standards and core values of the men's soccer program at JU. He lets us know what he and his coaches look for in prospective student-athletes during the recruiting process and what the non-negotiable qualities a player must possess for Jacksonville University at the Division 1 level. We answer questions from a youth coach on the challenges and obstacles a D1 coach faces and strategies to overcome them and the tools Coach Mauricio and his staff use to build cohesiveness and a winning culture within his teams.
