In this episode of 'Dancing in the Grey', I'm joined by Rachael Blumberg, founder of PLATE FIT, an incredible chain of fitness studios throughout LA that transforms the body through the power of vibration.

Rachael is an amazing storyteller. She explains her journey from a young athlete to opening her own fitness studio. Boldly, Rachael joined a male water polo team as a young girl, giving her scholarship opportunities to multiple schools. Identifying that female water polo teams were few and far between, Rachael set up her own team. After graduating college, Rachael found herself in a job she was good at, but felt a lack of passion towards. Finally, she discovered an abandoned vibrating stretching plate in a gym, which sparked a huge idea.

Key points:

- Trusting the uncertainty of the future to bring clarity and using self-reassurance affirmations to calm anxious feelings.

- Receiving rejection within business and the resilience that this is needed to withstand these knockbacks.

- Building an environment which breeds acceptance as a core value with ever-important diversity in fitness.

- Rachael reflects on the complicated twists and turns of her life which required her to surrender to and to trust the process which ultimately led her to success.

- Rachael discusses her ‘non-negotiables’ to cope with her depression such as meditation, wellness, supportive peers and diet.

- How Rachael discovered using her breathwork to move huge amounts of energy to the point that she fell out of her chair, bringing an understanding of the huge possibilities that shifting energy brings.

- Although Rachael avoids caffeine, I couldn’t let her go without discussing her favourite decaf coffee… of course.
