Starting with one Master Student and an outstanding homeschool mom, CEO and Founder, Melissa Perkins, used her more than 20 years of experience to pioneer and birth Blue Star Virtual Learning (BSVL). She creates an experience that celebrates the essential beauty of learning and accelerates young learners to self-mastery.

Melissa is a licensed educator and holds a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. She attended Meredith College where she was awarded the distinguished NC Teaching Fellows Full Scholarship.

After serving as a licensed teacher in large school districts including Fairfax County in the DC metro area, she pursued education leadership opportunities in China leading language schools and training teachers in both Beijing and Shanghai.

Upon returning to the United States, she had the opportunity to serve as an adjunct professor for international students at Virginia Tech Language and Culture Institute at the Fairfax Virginia campus.
