Think about all the things you use in your daily life. Shampoo, clothes, furniture, phone, computer...

All of these things have their beginnings in manufacturing facilities where various chemicals are mixed together, their molecules interacting in various ways to get to the next material along the manufacturing journey.

The methods use to combine those chemicals have a tremendous amount to do with how sustainable any of our things can truly be.

In this episode, we look at Mechanochemistry, an suite of chemical processing methods that have their roots in our ancient past, but which are being investigated anew for their potential to make those manufacturing systems cleaner, safer, and more efficient.

My guests are Dr. Wilfried Braje, a research fellow with AbbVie, and Dr. Isaiah Speight, an assistant professor of chemistry at William & Mary.
