Theres alot of talk by online influencers on the subject of probiotic supplements, but is there truth behind the hype ?

In this episode I define exactly what probiotics are, we explore what the gut microbiome is and why a balanced gut microbiome is essential for health and how something like antibiotics can affect its normal functioning.

There is also alot of individual variability in peoples microbiome and whether exogenous probiotic supplementation will offer them benefit them at all.

I also talk about the significance of consuming foods that possess a natural probiotic component, such as fermented foods like sauerkraut, kimchi, kombucha and natural yoghurt.

We also touch upon pre-biotics and compare them to probiotics. Plus I outline some other wholefoods that will help boost the levels of good bacteria in the gut naturally, thereby enhancing your metabolism, reducing inflammation and providing the right balance of bacteria that will optimise the biochemical processes that support your health.
