This is a conversation with Professor Suzie Hanna. As well as a brief overview of her career and practice as an artist, academic and an educator, we mostly discuss the relationship between animation and poetry. Both in general and as reflected in her work. There’s also plenty of other stuff as we get distracted and the conversation meanders around. Topics include: staying motivated, film festivals, mud, Werner Herzog’s definition of ecstatic truth, and creating crossfades with a bolex. Enjoy!

Here are some links to things that we mention.
Tim Burton - Vincent

Jonathon Hodgeson - The man with the Beautiful Eyes

Oliver Harrison - Apocalypse Rhyme

Brent Green - Paulina Hollers
Paulina Hollers live at Andrew Edlin Gallery

Suzie’s work - suziehanna.com
