Understanding what an energy auditor does has to be absorbed in small chunks. I have been doing it for five years and am still learning new things and making mistakes. I hope this intro to the different parts of an energy audit can help you to get better at what you do or maybe even decide that this is something you want to do.
Don't let the idea that learning to be an energy auditor is too tricky - and lose interest. Much of the learning takes place while you are in the field. The training to get certified is more of a way to gain a core set of skills so you can work safely for not only the occupants of the home but for yourself as well.
I could understand if you don't want to get into attics and crawl spaces, and maybe that is a reason not to keep working towards being an auditor, but even that I could argue against due to my ability to overcome my fear and intimidation of the attic. Quite literally, if I can do it, then anyone can do it.
I hope this episode helps you to get a small glimpse into doing an energy audit. Thanks for watching.
