After filing formal complaints against the doctors who violated my husband’s patient rights, everything changed.

In this episode, I share what happened next—how advocating for Gavin led to a new physician assistant, a new nurse, and finally, the right medications. It wasn’t easy, but standing my ground shifted the entire course of his care.

Gavin was still in the hospital, newly reliant on a feeding tube and being checked for pneumonia—but for the first time in a while, it felt like we could both exhale. Despite the fact that I was still in caregiving burnout and wildly overwhelmed, I loved being able to lean on hospital staff.

This is a story about the power of speaking up, even when your voice shakes, and the turning point that gave us hope again.

Join me as I share more insights from my husband's cancer journey, focusing on the importance of being a strong patient advocate. I'll discuss navigating the healthcare system and the necessity of caregiver support. This episode also underscores the significance of patient safety within local hospitals.
