On today's Daily Fix: One of the original founding members of xbox, Laura Fryer, says that Xbox Hardware is “Dead” and expressed disappointment with the direction Xbox has taken since she was a part of the company. Xbox recently announced a partnership with ROG for their latest handheld, the ROG XBOX Ally X, which has ROG taking care of the hardware and Xbox the software. To her this is an indication that the company is no longer interested in hardware and is the beginning of an exit for them. She now says that she thinks Xbox Hardware is “dead”. Xbox also announced a partnership with AMD which hints at something hardware related being in the works. Will Xbox’s 25th Year anniversary reveal what's next for XBOX? On a more positive note, the actor who voices Edward Kenway in Assassin's Creed Black flag has dropped hints at an Assassins' Creed Black Flag remake being in the works. After the many leaks over the years this is the closest we’ve had to a confirmation. Ubisoft has yet to confirm that the game is in development. In today's Daily Fix:In today's Donkey Kong Bananza-centric Nintendo Direct, the company has confirmed that Pauline is indeed in the game, and is playable via a two-player co-op mode. Interestingly, this is a younger version of Pauline than we've seen in 2017's Super Mario Odyssey (where she sang her now-famous "Jump Up, Superstar" as Mayor of New Donk City), or even her first appearance in the original Donkey Kong back in 1981. So does that make Bananza a prequel? Other details dropped in the Direct include returning Donkey Kong Country characters, DK's new powers, and more. In other news, Bungie's Marathon has been delayed again, this time to an unspecified date. Bungie is taking feedback from April's test to heart, while publisher Sony is eager to not make the same mistakes Concord did, which died a quick death within two weeks of its launch. On today's Daily Fix:It's an all-DC movies day, as the Snyderverse subreddit responds to a fan campaign to review bomb the new Superman movie. Many DCEU fans are still feeling burnt by Warner Bros. hitting reset on their DC movies slate with James Gunn co-shepherding the new DC movie universe. A reddit user on the Snyderverse subreddit posted a 'call to arms' for Snyderverse fans to review bomb Gunn's Superman, and post spoilers of the movie all over the internet. James Gunn has brushed off the 'threat' and the Snyderverse subreddit mods subsequently removed the post and issued an apology. In related news, Superman is not James Gunn's only DC problem, as the filmmaker recognizes that Batman is not only WB's biggest DC property, but potentially the most problematic, with at least two versions of Batman in two separate movie universes hitting theaters around the same time. And finally, the standalone horror film, 'Clayface,' based on the DC Comics character, has found its star.…
In today's Daily Fix:CD Projekt wowed the internet after a Witcher 4 demo running on a base PS5 was showcased at an Unreal Engine 5 event. The've has since confirmed it's taking a "console-first" approach to the game, and though it may upset PC gamers, dev team CD Projekt RED has good reason. Cyberpunk 2077 was developed with high-end PCs in mind, and then scaled down for last-gen consoles PS4 and Xbox One. Cyberpunk 2077's launch on those platforms was a trainwreck, to say the least, and somethng CDPR wants to avoid for The Witcher 4. In other news, Borderlands 4's standard edition will not make the price jump to $80, instead launching at $70—likely in response to the absolute beating Gearbox's Randy Pitchford took online after his comments on a possible price hike for the game. And finally, Nintendo's Switch 2 is a hit, but a few Pokémon fans aren't having a great time after transferring—and losing—decades of Pokémon saved game progress.…

In today's Daily Fix:Electronic Arts has cancelled its solo Black Panther game and shuttered the developer, Cliffhanger Games. EA is doing some cost-cutting elsewhere, as well, with around 300 roles affected across multiple teams. It's another blow to an already tumultuous industry where AAA gaming with big IPs usually mean skyrocketing costs. In other news, work on Cyberpunk 2 has officially started over at CD Projekt. The game will be a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, which infamously had a pretty rocky launch on last-gen consoles back in 2020. However, most of the company is still hard at work on The Witcher 4, which does not yet have a release date. And finally, the Switch 2 officially launches in the U.S. next week, but already the console is getting into the hands of the public. A Russian blogger apparently was able to buy one and have it shipped early, but without the Day 1 update, the unit is useless. And over at Target, a whole bunch of Switch 2's were rolled out in a lock-up cage onto the store floor and just left there.…

George R.R. Martin, who contributed lore and story elements to the game, is coming aboard as a producer, but no story or casting details have been made available. It's also unclear what game director Hidetaka Miyazaki's role will be, if any. Muhanned Ben Amor—Wilmon in Star Wars: Andor—has been a fan of Battlefront 2 since its launch (he even has the game hours to prove it), and would love a Battlefront 3. Unfortunately, EA and DICE are busy with a new Battlefront game, so Star Wars fans may be waiting a while. In other news, The Last of Us co-creator Neil Druckmann has given his definitive answer on Part 1's (and season 1's) controversial ending. Needless to say, the fan community seems split. DK's creator, legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, explains why. In Xbox news, a bunch of retro classics are coming to Game Pass, including titles like Pitfall, Commando, and MechWarrior. According to Microsoft, this is in keeping with their comittment to "game preservation and backwards compatibility," so good on them, we say.
