In today's Daily Fix:Another game has fallen victim to Microsoft's cost-saving measures. Avalanche's Contraband, which the public hasn't seen anything of, depsite being announced with a teaser trailer back in 2021, has been put on hold, and judging by Xbox's recent track record with in-development games, it doesn't look good. Contraband was supposed to be an open-world co-op game from the developers of Just Cause, but aside from the aforementioned teaser, we saw nothing of it. The game has joined the likes of Perfect Dark and Everwild as long-in-development Xbox titles that will now no longer see the light of day. In Sony news, the PS5 has just shipped 80 million units worldwide, and is on track to overtake the PS3 in overall sales. But it has a long way to go to catch longtime sales leader, the PlayStation 2, with more 160 million units sold (not just shipped). And speaking of Sony, the company is admitting that their live-service plans haven't gone according to plan, after the failures of Concord and now Marathon's most recent delay.
