Comedian Alex Pischera came over and told me about his father’s life as an NYPD captain and 9/11 first responder, the stage 3 melanoma that was likely accelerated from that event, when his death was announced to Alex’s entire school, and why his father didn’t fit the stereotypes that some people might have about police officers.
