Alright, brave treasure hunters, welcome to Matt Leacock’s Forbidden Island, the game where we’re desperately trying to snag ancient relics from a place that’s more cursed than a haunted mansion on Halloween. Picture this: it’s Indiana Jones meets Jumanji, with a side of Pirates of the Caribbean, except instead of drowning in rum and pirate hats, we’re up to our knees in rising water and facing an island that has it out for us.

Our mission? Grab four mythical treasures and escape before the island decides to sink faster than the Titanic…and us with it.

We’re each equipped with special abilities, like the Diver, who practically Aquaman’s their way across flooded areas, or the Engineer, who’s trying to keep the island afloat with little more than duct tape and sheer force of will. Then there’s the Pilot, who’ll be flying us out of here like we’re a last-minute evacuation team, and the Explorer, who can leap across sinking tiles like they’re Lara Croft.

But the Forbidden Island’s got its own plans. Every Waters Rise card makes another part of our plan go off the rails, flooding entire sections of the board, cranking up the difficulty like a Dark Souls boss fight. The more we try to grab the treasures, the harder it gets, like we’re stuck in a real-life Escape Room, but with way more screaming.

So, will we be able to work together, outwit the island, and clutch those treasures before we hear that final gurgling gulp of the last tile going under? Or will we find ourselves cornered, clutching artifacts as the waters rise, left with nothing but one final, desperate scream of “GET TO THE CHOPPA!”

Listen on and find out as we delve in two the dungeon⚔️
