The word Denḥo means "manifestation" or "shining forth" in Syriac, reflecting the feast's focus on the revelation of Christ's divinity. It commemorates the baptism of Jesus in the Jordan River by John the Baptist, an event seen as a manifestation of the Holy Trinity and the beginning of Jesus' public ministry.
