Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 Matthew 6:24
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”
MATTHEW 6:24
DEVOTION
Based on Matthew 6
Jesus speaks directly to the tension between serving God and serving worldly gain. We can’t fully give ourselves to both. Mammon represents wealth, security, and self-driven success apart from God. When we try to serve both, our hearts become divided. But a surrendered heart can’t have dual loyalties.
God desires our full devotion, not leftovers. When He is first, everything else finds its proper place. The choice isn’t just between good and bad—it’s between what’s eternal and temporary. Who you serve shapes who you become. Choose God, and your heart, mind, and future will be aligned with peace and purpose.
A.C.T.S. REFLECTION
ADORATION: Lord, You are worthy of my complete devotion. There is no one like You—faithful, loving, and true.
CONFESSION: I’ve tried to serve You while clinging to my comforts and desires.
THANKSGIVING: Thank You for patiently drawing me back when I wander and for reminding me that freedom is found in wholehearted devotion.
SUPPLICATION: Father, help me release my grip on anything that rivals You in my heart. Teach me to trust You as my source and not to chase what fades. Give me clarity when choices blur and courage when sacrifices are hard. Align my heart with Yours so that every decision I make brings You glory.
PRAYER
“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”
MATTHEW 6:24
Dear Lord, I know that every day there is a choice. Who will I serve? Will I serve mammon - the culture of the age that tells me I need to buy more to be more? Or do I serve Your kingdom – the culture of heaven that tells me I am valuable as I am because of Your love for me? The choice, in theory, seems simple. Yet my heart tends to stray toward mammon. Keep me close to You, Lord. Remind me every day that You are a far greater master, and worth serving with my entire heart! In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏🏾
