The journey of the character Shasta, who finds himself separated from his companions, is a relatable tale of perseverance and friendship. Along the way, we encounter a mysterious lion.

"Listen," said the Horse. "You and I must fly from Calormen together."

Even in their mistakes, the characters strive to do good. The story reminds us to have faith when things are really tough and even seem hopeless.

A journey toward Aslan is a journey toward all that is good and true.

Lewis captures this perfectly: “When things go wrong, you'll find they usually go on getting worse for some time; but when things once start going right they often go on getting better and better.”[1][5]

If you haven't yet experienced the beauty of "The Horse and His Boy," I highly recommend it.

Reflection Questions:

* What stories have you found to be more than just stories?

* In what ways do you see the themes of guidance and redemption in your own life?

* How can we, like the characters in the story, continue to head in the right direction, even when we make mistakes?
