JUR-ED is a podcast of the Jur-Ed Foundation, put out on a monthly basis. The aim is to promote education of legal rights and the practice of law, and this is done by looking at systems, structures, and social relations. On the Weekend of May 24-25, 2019, the Law Union of Ontario hosted its annual conference – Push Back, Drive Forward: Progressive Advocacy Against Rising Injustice. Jur-Ed was there and will be featuring audio from that event. This panel was organized by the Law Union's National Security Working Group. It is moderated by Jack Gemmell and features Brenda McPhail, Director of the Privacy, Technology & Surveillance Project at the Canadian Civil Liberties Association; Phil Tunley, civil litigation lawyer; and, Anil Kapoor is a Toronto lawyer and Special Advocate. Follow us on twitter at @Jur_Ed, facebook @juredfoundation or our website, juredfoundation.wordpress.com/ - and if so inclined to give to our charity, please do so at www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/ju…-ed-foundation/ --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/jur-ed-podcast/message
