Aside from the obvious questions (why?) studios and audiences seem to be drawn to the relentless mythos of the video game film - the adaptation of a story or world that deemed successful in the medium of gaming, but can it survive as a film? I mean, Tomb Raider spawned a franchise and what the heck even is the 10+ Resident Evil movies? (Good for Milla Jovovich!!!) There's camp, there's cheese, there's also the absolute garbage. Again, maybe it's us being video game fans and our protectiveness of that IP, but there's hope for a good adaptation in the future right? RIGHT?! Oh, Tom Cruise gets hit with another setback in his Mission Impossible and Vin & his familia is going to Cannes (really). Tune in!
