Taký je Deň otcov na Slovensku – sviatok, ktorý síce nevybuchol ako ohňostroj, ale pomaly si našiel miesto v našich srdciach. Počas socializmu sa Deň otcov veľmi neslávil. Populárny bol Deň žien a Deň detí, ale otcovia si museli počkať. Veď načo by potrebovali sviatok, však? Ako by povedal starý otec: „Otec? Veď to je ten, čo zarába a opravuje veci. “ Po roku 1989 sa však pomaly začali objavovať „západné sviatky“– Halloween, Valentín, Deň matiek, ... a Deň otcov. Dnes ho oficiálne slávime na tretiu júnovú nedeľu – ako v USA..... ................ (continues) Deň otcov sa na Slovensku zatiaľ neoslavuje s takou pompou ako Deň matiek, ale rastie. Deti kreslia obrázky, školy občas urobia projekt, obchody ponúkajú „darčeky pre otecka“– no a niektorí otcovia dostanú pusu, pivo, ponožky… alebo pokoj na pozeranie Tour de France. A možno to tak stačí. Veď slovenskí otcovia sú skromní. Nepotrebujú fanfáry. Len vedieť, že si ich vážime. Čo sa vám páči najviac? (What do you like the most?) Veľkonočné tradície našich starých rodičov Veľká noc je najväčší kresťanský sviatok. Naši starí rodičia ju slávili nielen v kostole, ale aj doma, rôznymi zvykmi. Dnes vám poviem, ako to vyzeralo kedysi – bez čokoládových vajíčok, bez obchodov plných výzdob, ale s množstvom krásnych tradícií! Pred Veľkou nocou bol štyridsaťdňový pôst. To znamenalo, že ľudia nejedli mäso, ani mastené jedlá, ani sladkosti. Namiesto toho si pochutnávali na zemiakoch, cestovine, kapuste a chlebe... ... Jedna z najznámejších jarných tradícií bola vynášanie Moreny ... ... Na Zelený štvrtok sa dievčatá skoro ráno ponáhľali k potoku, aby sa v ňom umyli. Verili, že im voda prinesie krásu a zdravie... ... Na Veľký piatok bolo všetko pokojné a tiché... ... Po vážnych dňoch prišla veselá Veľkonočná nedeľa a pondelok. V nedeľu sa konečne jedlo mäso, maslo a slávnostné koláče. No a v pondelok sa chlapci vybrali za dievčatami s korbáčmi a vedrami studenej vody. Keď bol potok nablízku, chlapci odvliekli dievčatá k potoku a namočili ich do neho. V niektorých regiónoch, ich ešte pošibali korbáčmi. A viete čo? Dievčatá sa nehnevali. Nesmeli sa hnevať, pretože sa verilo, že ak ich nikto nevyšibe, ani neobleje, nebudú pekné a celý rok budú choré. A čo dostali chlapci za túto "službu"? Kraslice alebo písanky, to sú ručne maľované vajíčka, ktoré dievčatá pripravovali celé dni. Tak vidíte, Veľká noc bola kedysi plná krásnych tradícií. Niektoré dodržiavame dodnes, iné sa zmenili. Ale jedno zostáva rovnaké – Veľká noc je čas radosti, rodiny a príchodu jari. Ktorá tradícia sa vám páčila najviac? Objavte jej 7 divov, ktoré vás pobavia a očaria! 1. Koza priviazaná ku komínu Vďaka strmému terénu tu záhrady často susedia s komínmi. Niekedy to vyzeralo, akoby koza bola priviazaná priamo ku komínu – kuriózny pohľad, ktorý ste inde nevideli! 2. Domy so zmeneným vchodom Vstúpite na „prízemie“, no ocitnete sa na poschodí. Typická zvláštnosť, ktorá môže nových návštevníkov poriadne zmiasť! 3. Býk v komíne Býk raz spadol do banskej vetracej šachty, ktorú miestni volali „komín“. Záchrana trvala hodiny, no býk prežil bez ujmy – príbeh, ktorý si mesto pamätá dodnes. 4. Most, po ktorom tiekla voda Na rozdiel od bežných mostov, tu voda tiekla po moste a ľudia prechádzali pod ním. Tento unikátny akvadukt je svedectvom baníckej technickej geniality. 5. Sneh na sviatok sv. Petra a Pavla Hovorí sa, že na ich sviatok (29. júna) vždy sneží. V skutočnosti sneh pokrýva ich sochy na kostole až v zime, no vtip zostáva živý. 6. Hodiny s opačnými ručičkami Vežové hodiny majú prehodené hodinovú a minútovú ručičku. Chyba? Tradícia? Nech je to akokoľvek, čítanie času v Štiavnici je malá výzva. 7. Živé hodiny Nového zámku Strážcovia kedysi trúbili každých 15 minút na znak bezpečia. Dnes sa táto tradícia pripomína počas letných mesiacov – skvelý zážitok pre návštevníkov! Banská Štiavnica je mesto plné histórie, vynaliezavosti a humoru. Príďte a objavte jej čarovné divy sami! Turista (T) 1: Aká je prvá zastávka? S: Najprv navštívime Námestie Svätej Trojice. Je to srdce mesta. Uvidíte veľa historických budov a veľký barokový stĺp Najsvätejšej Trojice so sochami svätých. Je to skvelé miesto na fotky! T 2: Sú v okolí ďalšie námestia? S: Áno! Len kúsok odtiaľto je Radničné námestie. Je tu radnica, kostol sv. Kataríny a tiež evanjelický kostol. T 3: A čo hrady? Sú tu nejaké hrady? S: Oh ano, máme dva hrady! Obidvoje boli postavené ako pevnosť. Teraz sú to múzeá, kde sa môžete dozvedieť o histórii mesta. A z Nového hradu sa vám naskytnú úžasné výhľady dookola. T 2: Keď už sme pri výhľadoch, čo poviete, oplatí sa výhľad z Kalvárie? (Speaking of views, what do you think, is the view from Calvary worth it?) S: Áno! Výhľad z Kalvárie na mesto je krásny a stojí za 45 minút chôdze. T 4: Čo je to Kalvária? S: Kalvária je barokové majstrovské dielo s kaplnkami a kostolmi. T 1: Máte tu nejaké miesta vhodné pre rodiny s deťmi? S: Určite! Terra Permonia je tvorivá dielňa, kde sa deti aj dospelí môžu hrať a učiť sa. Je plná zábavných aktivít. T 3: Nejaké unikátne múzeum v Banskej Štiavnici? S: Áno! Banícke múzeum v prírode. Môžete ísť do podzemia a zažiť, aké bolo baníctvo v minulosti. Ide o jednu z najstarších výstav na Slovensku. T 1: Toto mesto znie úžasne! S: Je to naozaj tak! Slovak lesson 1. nekonečná divočina (endless wilderness) 2. šepkajúce lesy (whispering forests) 3. slnečné lúky (sunny meadows) 4. zabudnuté dedinky (forgotten villages) 5. čarovný kraj (magical land) 6. drevená píšťalka (wooden whistle) 7. nádherný výhľad (beautiful view) 8. neobyčajné jašteričky (unusual lizards) 9. roztavené zlato (molten gold) 10. vyleštené striebro (polished silver) 11. nevídaný poklad (unseen treasure) 12. Ty si môj poklad. (You are my treasure.) Legend: Povesť o žiarivých jašteričkách Niekde vo svete je svetadiel Európa. Niekde v tej Európe je malá krajina Slovensko. A na tom Slovensku, priamo v centre, je krajina objímaná zelenými kopcami Sitna, a v nej sa rozprestiera nekonečná divočina. Dávno v minulosti, husté, šepkajúce lesy pokrývali krajinu a len občas ich prerušovali maličké, slnečné lúky. Dym zo zabudnutých dediniek sa vznášal k oblohe, označujúc miesta, kde ľudia žili potichu v harmónii s prírodou. Vzduch voňal sladko, potôčiky sa trblietali ako strieborné stuhy a celá krajina pulzovala prastarým pokojom. V tomto čarovnom kraji žil skromný pastier Ján. Bol známy svojim dobrým srdcom a melódiami, ktoré dokázal vyčarovať na drevenej píšťalke. Jedného teplého, zlatistého rána viedol svoje stádo na stráň. Ako kráčal, hral veselé tóny a jeho prsty sa obratne preháňali po dierkach píšťalky. Radostné melódie sa niesli vzduchom a volali lesných obyvateľov z ich úkrytov. Vtáčiky čvirikali v súlade a zvedavé veveričky zastali, aby si vypočuli jeho hudbu. Ján stúpal vyššie a vyššie, až prišiel na slnkom zaliatu stráň s nádherným výhľadom na údolie pod sebou. Posadil sa na machom porastený kameň a obdivoval krásu okolo seba. Zrazu však uvidel niečo zvláštne. Na veľkej skale neďaleko sa vyhrievali dve jašteričky. Ale tieto jašteričky neboli obyčajné! Ich šupiny sa trblietali kúzelným svetlom – jedna sa leskla ako roztavené zlato a druhá žiarila ako vyleštené striebro. Akoby v sebe niesli svetlo samotného slnka. Jánovi srdce poskočilo od úžasu. Ticho sa priblížil, aby si ich prezrel zblízka, no skôr, než sa k nim dostal, jašteričky zmizli pod veľkým balvanom. Pastiera zachvátila zvedavosť. Rozhodol sa odvaliť kameň a zistiť, kam sa jašteričky schovali. . . Keď ju vidím, viem, že Vianoce sú už naozaj blízko. Jaro: Reklamám ide len o jedno, vytiahnúť z nás viac peňazí. Alena: No hej, ale niektoré reklamy naozaj dokážu vyčarovať úsmev. Pozri, čo ak niekto nemá rodinu na Vianoce? Možno mu tie reklamy prinesú trochu radosti. Žiačka 1: Nie, pani učiteľka. Čo sa stalo? Učiteľka: Bol to dôležitý deň pre našu krajinu. Vtedy začala takzvaná Nežná revolúcia. Viete, čo to znamená? Žiak 1: Revolúcia znamená zmena, však? Učiteľka: Presne tak. Nežná revolúcia bola pokojná zmena. Ľudia chceli viac slobody. Pred rokom 1989 sme žili v komunistickom režime. Komunisti kontrolovali všetko. Ľudia nemohli povedať, čo si myslia, a nemohli cestovať, kam chceli. Žiačka 2: Prečo sa ľudia nebúrili skôr? (Why didn't people riot earlier?) Učiteľka: Mnohí sa báli. Komunisti mali silu a trestali tých, ktorí nesúhlasili. Ale 17. novembra 1989 to všetko začalo. V Prahe sa študenti stretli, aby protestovali. Boli však napadnutí políciou. To nahnevalo ľudí. Žiak 2: A čo sa potom stalo? Učiteľka: Po tomto incidente začali masové protesty po celej krajine, aj na Slovensku. Ľudia už viac nemlčali. Chceli slobodu a demokraciu. Nakoniec komunisti ustúpili a odstúpili od moci. Žiačka 1: Bolo to bez násilia? Učiteľka: Áno, preto sa tomu hovorí Nežná revolúcia. Nebola to krvavá revolúcia, ako v iných krajinách. Ľudia dosiahli zmenu pokojne. Žiak 3: A čo sa zmenilo? Učiteľka: Po revolúcii sme mohli slobodne voliť, cestovať, a hovoriť, čo si myslíme. Slovensko sa stalo slobodnou krajinou. Každý rok si 17. november pripomíname ako Deň boja za slobodu a demokraciu. Žiačka 3: A to, že teraz môžeme ísť kam chceme, je vďaka tej revolúcii? Učiteľka: Áno. Vďaka ľuďom, ktorí vtedy stáli na námestiach, máme dnes slobodu. Bez nich by život vyzeral úplne inak. Žiak 1: Takže to bolo veľmi dôležité, že? Namiesto toho chodíme na cintorín, navštevujeme hroby našich blízkych a zapaľujeme sviečky. Celé miesto žiari drobnými svetielkami. Synovec: Prečo ľudia zapaľujú sviečky? Strýko: Sviečky znamenajú, že si pamätáme ľudí, ktorých sme stratili, že sú stále s nami v našich srdciach. Synovec: To znie pekne. A to je všetko? Strýko: Po návšteve cintorína sa celá naša rodina stretne pri veľkom jedle. Je to ako naša verzia Dňa vďakyvzdania, ale bez moriaka! Synovec: A čo Halloween? Oslavujú ľudia na Slovensku Halloween? Slovak lesson 1. čerstvé hlávky kapusty (fresh heads of cabbage) 2. soľ (salt) 3. čierne korenie (black pepper) 4. rasca – semená (caraway seeds) 5. kopor (dill) 6. bobkové listy (bay leaves) 7. malé jablká (small apples) 8. čistý sud (clean barrel) 9. strúhadlo na kapustu (cabbage grater) 10. nôž na rezanie kapusty (knife for cutting cabbage) 11. drevená doska (wooden board) 12. ťažký kameň (na váženie) (heavy stone (as an extra weight)) 13. Dobrú chuť! Bon appetite! Ako nakladať kapustu na zimu Príprava 1. Zber a čistenie kapusty Po zbere dôkladne očistite a umyjte hlávky kapusty. Odstráňte všetky poškodené listy. Očistenú kapustu položte na stôl alebo lavicu prikrytú čistou plachtou. 2. Nakrájajte kapustu Hlavy kapusty nakrájajte na štvrtiny. Potom kapustu nastrúhajte na tenké prúžky. 3. Pripravte sud Pred naložením kapusty, sud dôkladne očistite. Umyjte ho a opláchnite čistou vodou. Potom ho osušte uterákom. 4. Pripravte koreniny Zmiešajte korenie: soľ, čierne korenie, rasca, kôpor a bobkové listy. Na dno suda položte niekoľko celých listov kapusty. 5. Vrstvenie a tlačenie kapusty: (Layering and pressing cabbage) Nastrúhanú kapustu nakladajte do suda po vrstvách. Po každej vrstve navrch rovnomerne posypte zmesou korenia. Kapustu pevne zatlačte, aby ste odstránili vzduchové vrecká. 6. Uzatvorte sud Keď je všetka kapusta v sude, prikryte ju vrstvou celých kapustných listov. Na vrch položte čistú drevenú dosku a potom ju zaťažte ťažkým kameňom. 7. Doba kvasenia Sud prikryjeme pokrievkou a necháme na chladnom a tmavom mieste kvasiť. Úplné prekvasenie kyslej kapusty bude trvať asi 6 týždňov, v závislosti od teploty. Občas skontrolujte, či kapusta zostane ponorená, a odstráňte penu, ak sa vytvorí na povrchu. 8. Tip na záver Keď je kyslá kapusta úplne vykvasená, uskladnite ju na chladnom mieste. Môžete ju nechať v sude alebo ju preložiť do menších nádob.
