This week we are getting serious about our promotion of strength training. When something makes such a difference in your life, it's hard to not shout it from the rooftops. That is strength training!
Why does strength training matter? It's an exercise and form of body movement that EVERYONE can benefit from in one capacity or another. It can be adapted for EVERYONE at any ability. It is crucial for maintaining healthy bone density as you age, in addition to muscle strength that aids in balance and coordination. So basically, if you want to maintain your upright posture and ability to walk, you should implement some degree of strength training.
Where do you start? Find a mentor! Find a friend or someone at the gym who looks like they know what they are doing and just ask them for some insight. Get serious and hire a coach, fitness professional or personal trainer, or join a gym that offers group classes or individual sessions. You could hire someone to write a program for you to do in your home or at a gym. You could go to the gym and wing it. You could google a basic beginner plan to follow.
Needless to say, there are a few hundred ways that you can begin your strength training journey. Listen to today's episode to learn more about how we've progressed in our journey, who we are tapping in to for our training sessions, how we're staying focused and moving forward and more!
