The barriers to entry preventing you from starting a podcast are pretty minimal. All the equipment you need to get your production in motion can be purchased from Amazon and land on your doorstep within a day or two.
And if you want to go more low-tech, you technically could create voice notes on your smartphone and upload them as podcast episodes (chef does not recommend).
But know this: STARTING a podcast is just the first step.
MAKING a podcast, on the other hand, takes a major commitment too many aspiring podcasters don't bring to the table. Unfortunately, they're fooled into believing podcast results are instantaneous and achieving top billing with their show happens with little to no effort.
Don't get consumed by someone else's highlight reel and focus on making YOUR show the very best it can be.
In Season 3 of Let's Blow This Up, the subject of "podcaster's mindset" has come up in many of our conversations. And this installment from the Livestream Series is no different.
Join me and my guest Eric Johnson, Founder of LightningPod, as we provide guidance and expertise on getting beyond just starting a podcast and, instead, prepare for the ongoing, rewarding journey that comes from making your podcast something your core audience gobbles up each and every time you release a new episode.
Together, Eric and I tackle:
- What it takes to stay committed to your podcast
- Why so many podcasts don't get beyond their first few episodes
- The biggest reason(s) you can't get consumed by highlight reels
- Easy-to-implement tips to ensure you stay loyal to your show
- How to keep things fresh and exciting with your podcast
- And much more
