This week I walk through modifying my Flysky 9X with an LCD back Light, A programmer so I can flash open source code onto it and also upgrade the RF module to a FR-Sky RF module which gets me better range, a failsafe option if I fly out of range and telemetry data back. The radio is available for $59 and the upgrades are about $40 total. So for $100 you get a radio that is worth $300 - $400. Plus, I flash the new code so you can see how much better the new code is than what came on the radio. I now have much more flexibility with the switches, the interface makes sense and so much more.…

This is the first week in our multi-week series on building multirotor flying things (my wife calls them toys). The math we cover in this episode is the same if you a building a quadcopter, hexacopter, octocopter and even a tricopter. We decided to tackle the math part first because before you buy any parts you need to know what parts and what values for those parts you need. So many times people skip this step and get a mashup of parts that do not work well or maybe not even work at all without smoke. We have seen so many people talking about the values without understanding what the values mean and spreading mis-information. We hope to clear all of that up in this episode.…

This week we take a deep dive into the Intel Galileo that can run Arduino code. The Intel Galileo runs a small unix operating system and runs the Arduino code in emulation. This makes for some really neat integration between Arduino and a unix based operating system. We go through all of the ins and outs to get you started quickly with this board.…

One of the most frequent questions we get is about getting a serial LCD to work with an Arduino. This week, we are going to take a look at a typical LCD, the backpack that is added to them to make them serial and then the most common problem people have with getting them to work. We will also take a look at a 7 inch touchscreen running on an UUDO that is running android.…

This week was a bit crazy. The goal was to show you a big video game button I used with an arduino and mp3 shield to create a talking Doggy Button for my dog to let us know when she has to go out. I did show that but..... I had just gotten back from vacation and just a day before tore the studio mostly apart and reset it back up with different lights, etc. It was a not so smooth show....…

This is week one of our two week overview of working with EagleCAD. You will be able to tell we really like this design program. This first week we walk through creating the schematic for one of our testing boards. You need to come back next week to see us take the schematic and make it a PC Board.

This week we take a project from one of our viewers (Thanks Jim). We create a TV Out for an Arduino. Yes, that is right, you can have your Arduino display stuff on your TV. It is composite only but you can do it.
