The Cincinnati Reds split their doubleheader with the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday at Fenway Park. After dropping the first game, the Reds bounced back in Game 2 with a thrilling 8-4 comeback win, highlighted by a go-ahead grand slam from Christian Encarnacion-Strand in the 7th inning. Matt McLain delivered in a big way both offensively and defensively, while Nick Martinez gave the Reds a strong 7 2/3-inning start despite some shaky defensive support. The Reds will take a much-needed day off Thursday before opening a weekend series in Philadelphia against the Phillies.
