We're in the market for a new video camera for our podcast, so we thought it would be a great time to compare the video capabilities of the new Nikon D4 to the Sony FS100. Both cameras are in a similar price range, and both have a host of positives. Check out Luca and James Park talk about the cameras in this week's episode of Macgasm TV.…

On the heels of the iPad announcement, and shortly after our 2 hour long live stream, we (more like Josh) thought it'd be a good idea to do a quick wrap up.

In this week's episode Luca and Brennan take you through our studio setup for the video podcast. We get a lot of emails asking how we pull off the show on a weekly basis, so we thought we would dedicate it an episode to covering all that fun stuff.

This week Brennan and Luca bring you two completely different products. First they look at an addicting, and insane game called Monster's Ate My Condo by the Adult Swim team. It's great fun. On the other end of the podcast Luca shows off a product from CineGrain that's pretty much the equivalent of applying hipsterish effects to your photos, but for video instead. It's main purpose? Making your digital films look more like traditional film. Quick side note: We've seemed to pick up some echo/hiss in this episode. We apologize for that. We're working hard to eliminate the problem.…
We've spent a lot of time over the last couple of episodes talking about some peripherals and camera gear. Just so you know, we're pretty obsessed with applications too. In this week's episode the guys talk about two apps that they're absolutely obsessed with these last few months: Instacast HD Path

In this week's episode Brennan and Josh check out the Boombotix speaker system, and the AluPen from Just Mobile. We're gonna be honest, we didn't think these products were going to be all that great, but it turns out we kinda love them both. I mean, that little Boombotix BB1 speaker is insanely loud, and perfect for pissing off old ladies on the bus. And the AluPen stylus is pretty solid for a stylus, and fits in your hand nicely, which is more than we can say for other stylus' we've tested out in the past.…

We also talk briefly about transcoding video formats with Audacity, and finally some of the annoyances with iMovie for the iPad.…
On this weeks episode we focus on some iDevice products. After having spent a couple months with the Audyssey South of Market Audio Dock, I have to say, I'm pretty impressed. Given the footprint, the sound quality if fantastic. Being able to toss audio over to the device from your desk via Bluetooth is a bit of a godsend for my office. We also spent quite a bit of time with the Joule stand by Element Case. The case has become a staple on my desk, while I wish the view angles were a little more adjustable, and the price wasn't so steep for a piece of machined aluminium, the stand is certainly solid. The Moshi iVisor AG is easily one of the better screen protectors we've tried out, and trust us, we've tried more than I'd like to admit. The matte finish, and black border really help to hide any air bubbles that may be present under the screen protector. Give the price, I'd highly recommend any of Moshi's screen protecting products.…
This week's episode of the Macgasm Video Podcast is a bit of a mismash of topics. We show off ThinkGeek's Joystick-it iPad Arcade stick. Hosts: Brennan Schnell, Joshua Schnell • The New York Times iPad App • The Globe and Mail App (Canadian) • RSS as a news delivery mechanic for news • The Flipboard App • The Kobo eReader • Special thanks to Mercury Grove for sponsoring the episode. Commentary Sometimes things get a little bit geeky, and this episode is no different. In today's episode we chat entirely about reading news on digital devices. Well, it's not entirely all news, we also talking about the Kobo eReader. It's fun to sit back and watch how news delivery mechanics have changed over the years. Somewhere along the way we went from book marking our favorite news websites to subscribing to RSS, and now a lot of people are transitioning from RSS based systems to Twitter based readers like Flipboard. There's clearly a struggle going on between the new approach and the old approach, and that struggle is clearly demonstrated in the applications we talk about in this episode. Hopefully you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed recording it. Oh yeah, you might also want to stick around to the ending. The outro is pretty LAWLtastic.…
