Welcome to the Machine Commons podcast, explore the various and far reaching impacts of machine learning - the software approach better known as artificial intelligence (or, AI). The world has teetered over an invisible edge, where more and more of our lives are governed by software that is decreasingly coded explicitly and increasingly trained - a world where our governing software 'learns'.

It is the technology at the cross section of multiple advanced fields: philosophy, mathematics, the scientific method in general, sociology, neuroscience, information technology, networks and chaos, politics, robotics, quantum computing... you name it, it's all tied together by this one approach called 'machine learning'.

You might be a data scientist or a marketing student, a mum, teacher or quantum field theoretician; this podcast has something for you. Come and hang out with Alex Carruthers (the founder of the Machine Commons, the machine learning collective), Lucie Schnitzer (the head of community at Omdena, where thousands of data scientists solve real world social problems with AI) and the occasional guest host.

Sit back, relax, and let them ask the smart and dumb questions, the funny and the serious, the profound and the silly.
