Welcome back to Medic2Medic! After a long break, I'm excited to bring you a special edition: Episode 301 with longtime colleague and EMS leader and now author Jeff Hammerstein.
Jeff and I go way back to our days in the Wake County EMS System, and I at Cary Area EMS. We talk about Jeff’s upcoming memoir, “Hi, I Am a Paramedic,” set to be released online August 1, 2025. The book captures Jeff’s decades of service, and "Hi, I’m a Paramedic" is part memoir, part love letter to the field, and part gut-punch of honesty. It’s a must-read for anyone in EMS, thinking about this wonderful career, or who wants to read an excellent book.
Whether you're a field medic, EMS leader, or fan of behind-the-scenes public safety stories, this one brings heart, history, and perspective.
