A Chinese television journalist was injured in a Ukrainian drone attack in Russia’s Kursk region, according to Governor Alexander Khinshtein. Lu Yuguang, a 63-year-old correspondent for China’s Phoenix Television, was reportedly in Kursk to gather material for a story about local civilians who have come under Ukrainian drone attacks. Khinshtein initially wrote on his Telegram channel that Lu Yuguang would be hospitalized with an “open traumatic brain injury,” but the governor later reported that the journalist’s wounds were only skin-deep.
According to The Insider, Lu Yuguang regularly appears in Russian state media as “an honest war correspondent from China,” offering praise for Russian soldiers and President Putin. Russian officials say he traveled “independently” to the Kursk region to report on the situation there.
