Russian forces launched drone attacks on the Ukrainian cities of Odesa and Kharkiv in the early hours of Friday. In Odesa, at least one person was killed and 14 others were injured, according to the regional prosecutor’s office. Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said three firefighters were among the injured.

A four-story apartment building in the city burned to the ground after sustaining a direct hit, and the firefighters were injured when part of the structure collapsed on them, the emergency service said. Fires also broke out on the 18th, 19th, and 20th floors of a 23-story apartment building, prompting the evacuation of 600 residents.

In Kharkiv, drones struck two districts, damaging homes and vehicles. Four people, including two minors, sought medical attention.

Ukraine’s Air Force Command said Russian forces launched 86 drones across the country overnight, 70 of which were shot down. Drone strikes were confirmed in eight locations, with debris from downed drones falling in 11 additional areas.
