Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has proposed a trilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump, AFP reported on Wednesday.
“If Putin is not comfortable with a bilateral meeting, or if everyone wants it to be a trilateral meeting, I don’t mind. I am ready for any format,” Zelensky told reporters on Tuesday.
The Ukrainian president added that he was “ready” for a meeting between Trump, Putin, and himself.
Earlier in May, Vladimir Putin rejected Zelensky’s proposal for a personal meeting in Istanbul during negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. Instead, he sent a delegation of officials led by his aide, Vladimir Medinsky. Ukraine’s delegation in Istanbul was headed by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
