Athens-Limestone Chamber President, Pammie Jimmar, welcomes Jason Parks and Andrew Murray, pastors from Refuge Church. Refuge is a non-denominational church serving multiple locations in North Alabama. A needs based ministry, they have found food security to be an issue in Limestone County. Partnering with local businesses, they sponsor food distribution drives and last year gave away over 120,000 pounds of groceries! Their work in recovery ministry has sparked plans to open a future Christian Counseling Center. Refuge Church also sponsors the yearly event, NIGHT TO SHINE, a prom night for people with special needs hosted by local churches worldwide. Complete with a red carpet entrance, dinner and dancing, karaoke, and a crowning ceremony, every honored guest will receive a crown or tiara as King or Queen of the Prom.
