It’s the Year of the Trails and Chamber President Pammie Jimmar talks with THE Richard Martin, namesake of the Richard Martin Trail in Limestone County, AL. Beginning in 1979, Richard was the chief trailblazer who oversaw the organization: fundraising, mapping, politicking, connecting with local community leaders as well as the national Rails to Trails Conservancy. The result is a beautiful and historic 11-mile hike through ever-changing scenery past historic Civil War Battle sites. Richard concludes trails and spending time in nature builds families and strong communities. He gives credit to all who helped make the trail possible along with the many additional hiking, biking, canoe and kayaking trails in Limestone County. Pammie talks about the upcoming hikes planned as part of the Year of the Trails, specifically Let's Hike Limestone!
