This week on NEWS.MC TV, we bring you the latest stories from the Principality, beginning with a powerful tribute to the unsung heroes of motorsport. A new documentary, Les Anges Gardiens de Monaco, premiered on May 1st at the Grimaldi Forum, shining a spotlight on the 700 volunteer track marshals who ensure the safety of the Monaco Grand Prix. The film offers an intimate look at the dedication behind one of the world’s most iconic races.

Monaco roared to life over the weekend as it made motorsport history with a thrilling Formula E double-header. On May 3rd and 4th, the Principality hosted back-to-back E-Prix races on its legendary street circuit for the first time ever, delivering high-speed drama and electric excitement.

Innovation and sustainability shared the stage at the Monaco Yacht Club on May 2nd, where the Change Accelerated Live summit brought together industry leaders from the worlds of tech, motorsport, and climate action. The event underscored Monaco’s growing role as a hub for forward-thinking dialogue.

Beyond the Riviera, the Monaco A2M Academy of the Sea, launched its first-ever international training session in Marrakech on May 4th, educating future ocean advocates and extending its mission far beyond Mediterranean shores.

Cultural diplomacy took centre stage as the Prince Pierre Foundation honoured Estonian composer Arvo Pärt in a moving ceremony near Tallinn. The event reinforced Monaco’s continued commitment to global artistic exchange and celebration of excellence in music.

In a sign of changing seasons, the Carabiniers of Prince Albert II donned their crisp summer whites on May 5th during the ceremonial changing of the guard at the Prince’s Palace—a much-loved tradition marking the arrival of warmer days.

Monaco also mourns the loss of Dr Michel-Yves Mourou, a respected radiologist and royal historian who passed away on May 6th. Known for his profound knowledge of Monaco’s heritage and long-standing service in the medical field, Dr Mourou leaves behind a legacy of compassion and curiosity.

On the court, the Roca Team delivered a nail-biting 85–84 win over Barcelona in Game 5 of their EuroLeague quarterfinal series, punching their ticket to the Final Four. The performance marks another milestone in a season that has kept fans on the edge of their seats.

And in this week’s exclusive interview, we speak with Camille Gottlieb, President of BE SAFE MONACO. She joins us to discuss her foundation’s efforts to promote road safety and prevent drink-driving among young people in the Principality.
