To my knowledge, there is not one group of tools or systems in place that measure one’s training preparedness. Yes, there are individual tests. But there are no protocols that combine reliable tests to guide one’s intensity.

In this podcast, I have a really fun and informative Q&A session with triathlete and coach, Benjamin Kessel, owner of Priority Fitness in Park Slope Brooklyn.

We break down overtraining, overtraining symptoms, when to say when during exercising and different ways to recover.

Guest: Ben Kessel

Ben Kessel is the founder/owner of Priority Fitness (est 2008), a Brooklyn based fitness studio that also focuses on strength & conditioning for endurance athletes.

Ben has a fantastic team of trainers who work collectively with him. Ben has been a Strength & Conditioning coach since 2004 and has been an endurance coach since 2009. He coaches multiple endurance clubs throughout NYC and is the President of the Brooklyn Tri Club.

Ben also coaches individuals from all backgrounds (recreational to professional) in performance/endurance training and general training health and wellness.

Ben was a collegiate athlete and has been an avid Triathlete for many years. He is an Ironman finisher and also represented Team USA in the ITU age group world championships in 2019 and in the 2019 Ironman 70.3 World Championships a week later.
